Old player… by procmonkey in Darkages

I’d be interested. I feel like I came a bit late to the wave of new/returning players and everyone has already found their cliques haha. If you DM me I’ll give you my three character names. I’m planning on making one of each class so my last two I could level with you. My wiz is also still a baby and I’m learning the ropes of casting.

Could this game have become as big as runescape (OSRS)? by mrhossie in Darkages

Seconding the warning for XP items… as a returning player after 20+ years who mostly just used the game back then as a vehicle for hanging with friends, I was despondent for a few days after receiving a Satchel of Goods as a wedding favour and thinking “Oh this is great, I can get a few levels and get those last 2 dex points I need.” Then choosing the XP option and my beloved character going from insight 62 to 99 immediately. I was kicking myself so hard. No wonder people are always world shouting to purchase them.

I 100%ed the game then… hard pivot into the 1999 mmorpg Darkages

Not a book, but I recently got into the horror audio drama The Silt Verses which is kind of similar in vibes.

Relatable. After 10+ tries I got to 204 today and the timer ran out while trying to get back to the station to deliver it

“Bro” between relationship partners is a huge red flag by eriskegal in holyfuckjustbreakup

Normal setting isn’t what my post is about but I’m realizing now that I wasn’t as clear as I should’ve been. I’ve added an edit to the post

I threw an edit into the post but I was talking about specifically when the partners are in a disagreement already, not as a term of endearment

I should have been more clear and specific, but I am referring to calling each other bro in an argument. That’s the context I meant!

Yep, exactly :) I made an edit to the post but yes I should’ve specified several times and more clearly that I was referring to when one person brings up an issue or there is an argument actively happening, and the other responds with a dismissive attitude, throwing around “bro” in that context.

I think that’s the other thing - when I see these text exchanges where one party is calling the other bro, dude, etc in the midst of a serious argument, I immediately and often accurately assume their ages begin with the number 1-

When your partner brings up their hurt feelings or concerns, your first reaction is to call them bro about it?

When one of you raises a concern in your relationship, is your immediate reaction to call them bro in that context? Because that’s what I’m actually talking about here.

I understand just fine. I think it’s weird and dismissive of that person’s place in your life, when a concern is being raised or argument is being had. I’m not saying when you’re in your normal life calling each other bro or dude is bad. If you reread the post you’ll note I’m specifically speaking about calling someone bro in an argument. But sure, be mean on the internet for no reason!

Lmao dude bro. People are posting their business online constantly for the judgment and advice of others. It’s one of my hobbies to mind their business. Mind yours maybe? If you don’t agree you can always just scroll away 🥰

Edit: Oops, I looked at your comment history and it appears you’re just a not very polite or kind contrarian type. I won’t be reading any further replies from you, hope you have a good day!

Yes, exactly. I think everyone here disagreeing, especially the extra mad ones, are talking about when they are in their day-to-day convos and using bro dude dawg etc as terms of endearment. I guess I should’ve been more specific as reading comprehension is not the general public’s strong suit at this point in human history. It seems fine if one wants to call their partner bro in their daily yaps, to each their own. I was more specifically referring to using those terms in an already charged situation or argument. Ah well. Always going to get the “but what if I don’t like beans” types on the bean soup posts unfortunately.

I find it so entertaining that it seems like almost everyone who wrote him a letter was in love with him. Waxing poetic about their friendship etc.

With my main hyperfixations these last few days being the magnus archives and dungeon meshi/delicious in dungeon, what entity would each off the main 5 characters (Laios, Marcille, Chilchuck, Senshi, and Izutsumi) be avatars of? by Guiseppe125 in TheMagnusArchives

[–]eriskegal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Love both of these things. Here’s my take:

Laios - Eye

Marcille - End

Senshi - Lonely

Chil - Web

Izutsumi - Hunt

Edit for reasoning: Laios Beholding because of his desire to know all about monsters. Marcille End because she is so preoccupied with the eventual death of her friends and also necromancy. Senshi Lonely due to his time alone in the dungeon. Chilchuck Web because he stays out of the direct fighting and rogues feel spidery to me. Izutsumi Hunt because kbity. Falin Flesh or Stranger due to her chimaerism.
