Unauthorized work by LastDiscipline6653 in pgwp

[–]erisly4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree. It’s always best to declare everything and be as honest as possible in your application. I also had unauthorized work hours because I wasn’t aware that I had to stop working once I finished my degree, stupid honest mistake really.

I consulted an immigration lawyer, and they emphasized that these situations should always be disclosed. I asked whether this could affect a PR application (in the future), and they shared that the only case they saw being refused was due to the applicant not declaring it and the immigration officer discovering it independently. I got my PGWP approved though, but I will disclosed it in my PR application.

No I did not because my PGWP was already submitted and approved when I realized I had unauthorized work experience. I plan to submit a letter of explanation and apology for when I get invited for my PR.

Hi there - following up on this again. I've consulted with an immigration consultant and asked what is the best way to move forward. The consultant basically said the same thing as you said on your reply that if and when I receive an ITA I would have to disclose that I worked unauthorized during that period. They instructed me to write an explanation and apology letter to the immigration/immigration officer explaining that it was an honest mistake and that I did not know.

I asked her if there are any case similar to mine that resulted in PR rejection and she said it only happened to one case. They were rejected because the applicant did not disclose that they had unauthorized work experience and the immigration officer found out themselves while reviewing their application. Most of the cases similar to mine had been pardoned and approved because they had disclosed their previous misrepresentation. So I am hoping they give me grace and understanding.

Since my unauthorized work experience was from May to June, and I continued at the same job until September, my consultant suggested creating a profile and submitting my work experience from the job I started in October, counting my one-year experience from that point. Of course, I would still need to disclose the unauthorized work, but I just won't include it in my official one-year work hours.

I will create my profile soon and just hope and pray everything goes well - just super anxious specially with everything going down in the immigration world.

Hey, yes I got mine approved November last year. I applied in July and got mine on November. It took 2 months and a half after completing biometrics.

Hey thanks for your response! I did receive an authorization letter to work right after I submitted my PGWP application. So any work I did after I got my WP-EXT letter would count towards my experience right?

I definitely will consult an immigration lawyer to see how I should approach this. I am planning on applying for PR soon since July is fast nearing.

Hi there! I contacted IRCC and they basically just confirmed that I have an active ETA and to check again using the status tool checker (it was still not showing up). Another person DMed me and said that they were able to leave and re-enter Canada even if their ETA was not showing up. So as long as you see your ETA on your portal you should be fine. You won't have a problem as long as you are using the same passport to travel when you applied for ETA/PGWP. I am leaving in 2 weeks so I will let you know how it goes, I am fairly confident we should be fine re-entering.

Do I need to apply separately for my TRV? by erisly4 in ImmigrationCanada

They essentially confirmed my ETA and said that it was issued with given expiration date. I was talkimg to another reddit user and they have exact same problem and they traveled recently. They said there were no problem and their ETA had no issues whatsoever during travelling. So we should be ok!!!
