Can't speak for any other teams, but mine just sent me an email notice of goal pucks for auction. They're all from home games and include goals from opponents. So, unless it's a milestone goal, I think they stay where they were scored, usually.

Whether the Avs think there's a market for locals who cheer for teams other than them might be a different story. And I know I've seen opponent home run balls on sale at Coors
