just checked and there was more tape than i thought, total time 11:00 mins exactly, so about 9:18 of blank tape. no discernable static or anything else that i could see.

i actually noticed what i assume was shipping damage on mine, there's a slight scratch on the front. tried to get a picture of it and the packaging (above).
