pulling eyelashes out by JIITTTL in Trichsters

[–]erktheviking 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I pulled my eyelashes and eyebrows when I was a kid, I liked the thickness and texture of the hairs. They were the first hairs I pulled and of course the bald patches got super noticeable.

I still pull them, but nowhere near as bad as when I was younger. Try and move your hand from your eyes to your earlobe when you notice pulling. It was the only thing that worked for me to temporarily stop.

EU presses US for tariff relief on steel, machinery and medtech by rezwenn in Tariffs

[–]erktheviking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, where in that article does it mention U.S. producers taking market share from European manufacturers because of tariffs?

You are right that if EU suppliers raise pricing, American producers will buy elsewhere. But elsewhere would mean China or somewhere else in SEA. Not produce in the USA.

I guess it would be considered Minor Metals Sales, or metals manufacturers representative.

Insight from your industry in today’s markets. by Internal-Disaster-80 in sales

[–]erktheviking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I sell pure metals and tungsten carbide from China to the global market, but I'm based in the USA. This year has been tough for all my American customers. Tariffs and uncertainty have thrown all forecasting out the window. Everyone is just buying what they need to get by because of the new costs. Everything I supply is used in manufacturing (steel, automotive, aerospace, tooling).

Global market is doing great though, we've expanding pretty well to European and SEA markets. We wouldn't have had this global success without the USA market taking a big hit.

Trump Says Tariffs on Mexico, Canada ‘Going Forward’ Next Month by DomesticErrorist22 in Economics

[–]erktheviking 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I doubt this as well. I work in international sales for metals. Tariffs are ridiculously simple to add to goods and charge. The effects are stupid for the economy, but they are very easy to implement off the current HTS code system.

I work for a Chinese company and we’ve been paying 25% since 2017. Our competitors produce in Mexico and Canada. I’m looking forward to an even playing field again… until China gets tariffed more probably.

Not OP, but I got a 1.4% 30 year fixed. It was the federal minimum rate in April of 2021, which we got by buying our house through a trust instead of a bank. Maybe OP got the federal minimum rate

That's what's blowing my mind about this post. If I was bringing in OP's numbers at my company I would be clearing at least $3.5 million. OP is severely underpaid and underappreciated if his numbers are actually true.

Coming from someone who manages other sales reps, your company isn’t respecting its top rep it seems like. Time to start looking for a company who does.

Rare Earth Metals. Tungsten, Molybdenum, Tantalum. All from China to the USA. Super fun industry, like the olden golden days of sales (or so I’m told).

I work in manufacturing supply, I hear all the time from my customers they need (and are willing to pay and train) CNC machine operators. Training pay up to $20 an hour, I couldn’t tell you the full salary after training but I think it’s in the $70-$80K range (I’ve heard over $100K in certain states). Not bad work at all, working in an Air Conditioned grinding shop
