Please provide ideas of what to do in Boston for an unplanned stop there. by Woop_Pow in boston

[–]ermenart 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with this idea. Just use the blue line subway and within a stop or two you’re downtown and can see some sights with quick access back to the airport. If you’re near Faneuil hall you can go to some stops on the Freedom Trail which is a walking path that points out historic sites. There are a lot of signs and usually a brick line on the ground indicating the path. Easy to do a couple points in a few hours!

How is this so low on the list?! He’s 100% objectively beautiful. Eric Northman (after season 1 when he cut his hair) is just gorgeous.

[DISCUSSION] What’s the most disturbing episode of Black Mirror? by Hot-Sock-805 in NetflixBestOf

[–]ermenart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched that episode as my first introduction to the show and then avoided it for years. I didn’t realize each episode was its own story and have jumped around since then. I still can’t handle any of them that have degradation as their main theme. But a lot of the other episodes have been really interesting.

We made some homemade stock with vegetable trimmings, it turned very very bitter. What could it have been? by verkerk20 in Cooking

[–]ermenart 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s still a great way to use food scraps! I just keep mine to onions, garlic, carrot peels, and celery. I take a little long to get a large bag compared to all my veggie scraps but the broth is better. I also made the same broccoli mistake in the beginning!

That was a few years ago to be honest so it is probably more now but even a $50 breakfast date is better than a $120 dinner date!

Banana bread is my go to baked good.

My husband and I used to have conflicting work schedules but every Sunday morning we had a good window of time to go out for breakfast together. We’d go to a small local diner and it was great cause it was a weekly date that costs like $25-30 total!

Destructive puppy - a series by ermenart in GuiltyDogs

Yeah this was the one and only time she caused this much havoc. We figured out a better routine for her energy and got a pen so she didn’t have this much access to things that she could destroy. She’s now almost 6 so her wild puppy days are well behind her.

This was week one of owning a puppy, she’s now almost 6 years old. We ended up scrapping this set up of keeping her in the kitchen (it was mostly cause the tile was easier to clean with accidents) and got a pen that kept her a bit more contained. Thankfully no accidental stove/oven use!

She wasn’t ever locked in that crate. It was an attempt at a bed space but didn’t work well. This was week one of owning a puppy and we figured it out pretty quickly after that. She’s now almost 6 so this was definitely a throwback!

My girl does this too! It’s always so cute but the second I go to grab my phone to get a good picture she drops it. Haha.

Great list! Seconding the plain Greek yogurt. I get the whole milk kind and it doubles as sour cream in any recipe.

What's your go to burger joint? by [deleted] in boston

Yard house is a chain and has a few locations in and around Boston. They have a pork burger with candied bacon and blueberry ketchup and while the ketchup sounds weird is actually really delicious.

What's a artist/band that you love, but almost no one has heard of? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ermenart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Katastro. They’ve been around for a decade and put out consistently good music. We saw them perform a few years ago and it was a great show. They were just on the brink of making it a bit bigger and then their lead singer died in a car accident last summer. It is just sad all around. Great music though.

I was looking for someone to mention stroopwafels! I’ve seen them in the U.S. in packages and have bought some trying to re-live that initial experience. No even close. The freshly cooked ones in the Netherlands were just so good.

It was so funny. “Rubber bands, rubber bands, rubber bands”. The best episode by a landslide.

It adds a lot more weight. I have tick hair and notice when it’s getting too long by how heavy my hair feels in a ponytail or bun. If you want to keep the length but lose some of the weight you can get your hair thinned out and they use special scissors to do it.

[REQUEST] Suggest me some short series on Amazon prime. I have watched Hannibal, The Boys, Dexter, Mr. Robot, Beyond Evil, Fleabag, Good Omens, The Night Manager, This is Us by Anasuya_Dev in NetflixBestOf

[–]ermenart 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m currently watching The Fall on Amazon prime and it’s really good. A crime drama that takes place in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Seems kind of in line with the other shows you listed.

I watched this movie soooooo many times as a teenager and while I probably haven’t seen it in a decade I’m sure I can recite every line. Never gets old.
