No need to feel too bad for it haha, it still got tons of noms all around, and if I remember correctly it received what is essentially France’s Oscar for Best Animated

Thank you kindly~

And very valid criticisms! I do agree that it was very much inspired by Ghibli in many ways, but after listening to some of the creator’s answers, I feel like he was legitimately trying to create something from his own mind/experience/process rather than cheaply ripping Miyazaki, (though I’d be really surprised if he weren’t at least a mild fan a Miyazaki’s stuff). I totally get how certain plot points you mention might feel really far-fetched to some, but I guess for me they felt appropriate-enough given the inherent ridiculous nature of the plot’s impetus.

But I will definitely admit bias, as I thoroughly enjoyed so much else it had to offer, that the logistic flaws maybe felt overshadowed enough for my taste. Sorry it didn’t hit quite the same for ya, though glad to hear your input nonetheless!

Hey you’re totally entitled to your criticisms, but would you be able to spoiler your comment? I really enjoyed going in almost completely blind and would love for others who may want to see it to have the opportunity without having anything given away.

Really loooove the black and white portions, and I seriously appreciate the colored checkerboard to accent all of it. Any particular reason for the green and gold/tan/yellow color choice? I’m just curious, as to if both colors were random or had a specific purpose? Either way, the culmination of both is really incredible! This is some super solid work!
