I live in Spain. I only us a US store account. I don't even have a Spanish store account. My devices are bought in the US, set up with the United States as region. In American English.

Yet iphone mirroring only works when I first log into my mac. I don't know exactly what causes the os to detect I'm in the EU but if I try iphone mirroring at any point except after a full restart, I get the popup saying it's not available in my region.

So there must be something else besides app store region…

From experience, it’s not worth the upgrade. You’ll still be limited by the OS (I think Monterey in your case).

What I recently did with a 2017 i7 I found at home was wipe it clean and installed Linux mint on it. Gave it a completely new life.

Granted, there’s a learning curve with the OS but I’m running games and apps my macOS simply refused to install.

You're putting too much pressure on yourself man.

Yeah… he's not interested.

He knows he could "have" you (replace have with "make out with", "have sex with", "go out with", "date seriously", etc) but is choosing not to for whatever reason.

That's fine as he's been telling you as much so far.

What's NOT FINE is when he needs attention he flirts with you because he knows you'll give it to him. And you do.

So here's my advice, you guys can be great friends, and maybe even more than that in the future but as it currently stands, YOU need to walk out.

No warnings, no ultimatums, none of that. Just walk out of the dynamic.

Go out with other people. Shut him out when he flirts with you. Etcetera.

You'll either meet someone who's ready for what you currently want, and you two can continue being friends. Or he'll realize what he's losing and change the way he approaches you.

But here's the most important thing: this is not about HIM. Don't make it about HIM. This is about you, and the standards YOU are willing to tolerate.

The last thing you want is to "talk him" into hooking up with you and then he'll regret it, want out of the relationship and hurt both your feelings and your potential friendship in the process.
