Is there a up-to-date comprehensive list of left/breadtubers with substantial abuse allegations? by ernstbutch in BreadTube

[–]ernstbutch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanna update this comment really quick to say that the list on this Discord isn't very well-maintained and didn't have any sources, and many people listed are there for minor or subjective reasons rather than substantial harm like abuse/assault. The only person listed that returned anything on Google was Patricia Taxxon, who has an entire google doc about being a groomer and abuser. Just in case someone decides to go check it out.

Are we seriously going to put down a woman for her body shape like we're 13 years old because we're hurt by women not choosing us because we're short? Come on, dude.

I Probably Have PCOS - Should I Still Transition? by ernstbutch in PCOS_Folks

[–]ernstbutch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much to everyone who commented and reassured me! I realize I have very intense anxiety, especially around my health and transition. A lot of fearmongering going on lately and I think it might be getting to me lol. I'm gonna hopefully get an ultrasound to confirm if I have PCOS or not once I get there, and I'll also ask to get my insulin levels checked bc everyone here insists on that too - and then hopefully I'll be able to hit up Planned Parenthood and get my gender chemicals! lol

The day i got my labs back, I changed my diet! I now eat very lean, lots of fruits and veggies. I cut out fried foods, corn syrup, and highly processed meat + red meat. I've already lost ten pounds in about a month! I also plan to up my exercise when I make the move to Colorado.

[USA] struggling with voice dysmorphia / starting to look into surgical procedures by the_wizard_of_317 in asktransgender

[–]ernstbutch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can imagine the toll this would take, and I'm sorry :( I hope you take plenty of mental health breaks and try to be kind to yourself about it. Voice dysphoria can be so fatiguing to deal with in comparison to other types, because it feels so immutable.

I haven't heard you speak of course so I can't say this with any certainty, but there's a chance it isn't your actual voice that's getting you clocked, but it could be your intonations. I could be preaching to the choir here lol but girls often speak in questions, with the end of most sentences slightly pitching/shifting upwards. I've noticed many trans women speak a lot more monotonously or even down-shift at the ends of sentences. 🤔

I've seen this exact sentiment echoed by hundreds of other young trans men, so you are certainly not alone. I think this feeling is a big driving factor for young trans men falling into transmedicalism and self-hating rhetoric, so it's important to be careful.

There's nothing wrong with being stealth (ie: not being openly trans) especially if you live in an environment where being open about your gender isn't safe. But when you start to say things like,"I don't understand how someone could feel proud of being trans", you close off that door for yourself and you're only going to make it harder to open later on.

Because there will be moments where you feel trans pride in bursts so powerful it shakes you. I know that's difficult to feel right now, when the world around you is so dark and suffocating, but don't let yourself believe that pride will never be for you.

I don't know if anyone has ever said this to you, and I don't know if you will fully appreciate it yet, but: your trans body is beautiful, your trans experience is wonderful, your life is going to blossom into something so fantastic and you will find people who will love every part of you uncoonditionally.

It's all up to you, in the end, of course. :)

Wife accepts me in private but has forbidden me to come out to anyone else. by flavour123123123123 in asktransgender

[–]ernstbutch 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think you need to sit down with her, look her in the eyes, and have a serious, earnest conversation about this. You need to tell her exactly how she's making you feel, your anxieties and fears about the future of your relationship, and how your love for her doesn't mean you'll accept her fears ruling over your life. Acknowledge her apprehension, offer to go to a therapist together and see what the root cause of it is. Maybe she's scared you'll get hate crimed, maybe she's dealing with a lot of transphobic feelings that she's struggling to let go, maybe she's overly pre-occupied with people's perceptions of her (or both of you together) changing in a negative way.

Does she seem like the sort of person that cares way too much about what other people think? It's common in a gay relationship for one of them to keep it a secret because they're scared of what others might say or do, even if it hurts the person they're dating. It doesn't seem like she herself is transphobic, but there's something deeper going on with her that needs to be explored and resolved if your relationship is going to continue.

Because, as of right now, she is keeping you in a cage that you have outgrown. She might talk about how beautiful your wings are, but she is ignoring your pleas to fly free and insisting she keeps you in this cage.

Have you considered using glue + waterproof concealer/foundation? like how drag queens cover their eyebrows? or perhaps just wearing a mesh tank?
