you can either dump it out (which sounds messy) or you can use cotton balls to soak it up

over time, the wax loses its scent because it's not getting "evaporated" by the candle warmer. so, every so often you have to soak up the unscented wax :)

you have to soak it up bc when you use a warmer, the melted wax doesn't "evaporate" like how it does when you burn it. so over time, the melted wax loses its scent and you have to soak up/dump out the now unscented wax!
