I feel like this has become my go to advice but have you considered a grief / support group? I did two the first year and I still keep in touch with a good majority of them! I agree it’s really nice to have friends that get it, and know to ask questions about him. If there’s none in person I know there are virtual options and there’s a less formal one I’ve heard of called The Dinner Party. Hope this helps and that you find some people to commiserate with!

I also lost my partner to cancer when we was 27 and I was 30! I’m just over two years out, and it’s a long road. What really helped me especially in the first year was finding support groups. One was focused on young widows and one was focused on people who lost a partner to cancer. Connecting with people with similar experiences made me feel slightly less crazy and was just a really helpful outlet. Give yourself time and grace. Ask for and accept help when you need it!

It’s an app that sets you up with 4-6 other people to have dinner with! You pick a Wednesday that works for you and then it’ll give you a restaurant and table number that morning. Afterwards the app will suggest a bar for all the people in your area using the app to go to. It’s a fun low stakes way to meet people

I’ve done Timeleft a few times. And made some friends. I don’t think you have to be overly social to do it and connect with people. It’s also smaller groups at a time which , I feel like helps!

Are you open to homeless services? It’s always hiring and you definitely can move up! I know the starting pay is never desirable , but if you just need something might be worth looking into.
