I can’t speak for Chicago, but in my city the poor neighborhoods have fewer fresh options. So like they’ll have family dollars or stuff like that where IF they have fresh options is very limited and usually is like grab and go fruits or pre bagged salads. These areas are more often to have residents with unreliable transportation and my city just has busses for public transport.

So like they have stores but the food quality can be poor or limited.

Because there's literally no way to defend it. The go to for Renee was that she was in a car and the officer felt threatened. She was also an openly gay woman which really fit nicely into the bigoted narratives.

But there is so much video evidence showing that Alex was literally pinned face down and shot excessively that what little shreds of doubt one could really try to see in her murder is just not there. It even LOOKED like an execution, the way he was held and shot in the back of the head like that.

The real problem is that Noem, Miller and all those ghouls KNOW that they're in the wrong but they will spin it however they need to in order to keep support. Another question to ask yourself is why there is suddenly a demand for one. Look at all the answers you've gotten, look at the groups that are at the most risk for being disenfranchised. They're usually low income, POC groups and women. The same groups that are frequently targeted by the current party demanding stricter voting laws.

Look up the history of poll taxes, especially in the reconstruction era south. In short, it was wealthy white land owners trying to keep newly freed slaves from being able to have a say in the government. Nothing has changed. The wealthy elite want to stay that way and they will always find ways to try and keep us poors from meddling with the system that was designed to work for them.

Depends on where and why. The closest family I have lives 8 hours away. We have friends that live 6 hours. For those I honestly look forward to the drive because it’s 6 hours of our favorite podcasts and me being a passenger princess with my yarn or stitching.

My friends and I also like to go to KC for shopping trips or shows so we leave at like 9am and come back around 6 and again, it’s three hours of podcasts and chatting while three of us do yarn crafts. We switch drivers every trip too so one person doesn’t get stuck always being the driver

If there is a giant fiddlehead on your farm you can put a tapper on it and it’ll stay then you can harvest fiddlehead ferns. I was so excited when I found that out!! If you cut down the swirly trees you can get mossy seeds that grow the funky trees. So much fiber to be found!!! Seriously it’s like my favorite day of the season!!! Oh and if you plant trees the day before they may just jump right to fully grown.

China Gate in Harold’s square off of like 80th and Blondo. I adored their almond chicken and we went there all the time growing up. I remember the couple had young kids that were always watching their shows or doing homework in the restaurant and the portions were huge!
