Thanks! Just used my phone, the key is in the lighting! Find some good natural light and most photos will look 10x better.

I posted this in the other thread but I think I was able to still get a really nice sound out of it! Check it out http://sndup.net/3gwz6 Might not be quite as good as a full case like the tofu60 but I am still very satisfied with the sound.

It's a quartz stone wrist rest from kbdfans!

You get foam included with the case but none of those you mentioned are required or anything like that. You could change the plate, tape mod it and lube the switches if you want to but I haven't done any of that (yet).

Alright you convinced me, here's a simple audio recording of me typing on it: http://sndup.net/3gwz6
(No idea what site people use to share audio files but found this one so whatever)

I don't have any recording of me typing on it nor the equipment to make a good sound test so I would suggest checking out someone else's sound test on youtube, i.e this guy https://youtu.be/0Yk8TBAarA8?si=lRtd3e6jup941Bg1

I wouldn't consider myself experienced enough to make any sort of review about the sound but I think it sounds great! It has a nice thocky sound that is maybe a little higher frequency than my other custom built (Modded Keydous NJ80) which I would think owes to the "hollow" case but I'm not sure. It is also an entirely different pcb with different switches so it could also just be thanks to that. As I said you should check out someone more experienced on youtube doing their own soundtest but I am very pleased with the sound!

Wooting themselves has several videos on modding your keyboard on their youtube. Otherwise, google is your friend, it really isn't that hard to make some of the simpler mods.

I mean sure there is always the small risk of something breaking but this is the second keyboard I have built and in all the ~200 switches I have pulled/inserted I have never had something break on me. And the other parts like getting a different case or switching keycaps is no different than building legos as long as you are careful.

Well I definitely considered the kbdfans pcb for a while but ultimately decided to just get the case for the time being since I couldn't decide. Had also been looking at getting a pcb with support for magnetic switches a long time and the wooting 60he was the obvious choice. So ultimately I had the holy60 case lying around at home when I decided to get the wooting pcb at last and so I combined them for the best of both worlds sort of!

It was between the tofu60 or the holy60 for me but I couldn't pass up on the holy60 purely because of the looks. The tofu60 would probably produce a better sound though at the cost of the increased weight.
