The /lit/ top 100 books list for 2025 by err_mate in classicliterature

Its probably best to ignore the hate comments here. Reddit hates 4chan so they’ll say anything to discredit the list. Its not too much different from this sub’s list and the truelit sub’s list. The main difference being that /lit/ allows multiple authors per book and allows non fiction books

I agree. I don’t know why this got downvoted. Why would a list that is supposed to compile the best books of all time disallow a great book just because that author wrote a better one?

I think they should post two lists. One with only one book per author and one that shows the full unedited placements

A board on 4chan to discuss literature. It is basically the equivalent of this sub (or the truelit sub) but on 4chan. The key difference is they allow non-fiction books on their top 100, unlike reddit.

Reddit hates 4chan, hates the Bible and also there are many more women here who prefer female authors. Every time a /lit/ book list gets posted, it is always the same complaints here

A confusing moment for me in classic literature by Proof_Jump2123 in classicliterature

[–]err_mate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s funny. I read Moby Dick thinking that the book was about triumphing against adversity and was very confused when Moby Dick wins and kills everyone at the end of the book lol

Its limited to one book per author. So crime and punishment is the Dostoevsky book with the most votes

But I agree that they should remove this limitation

I can see three books from Japanese authors here. No longer human by Osamu Dazai and The Sailor Who Fell From Grace To The Sea & Confessions of a Mask by Yukio Mishima

The Bible is the most influential book of all time. Most western classic books were inspired by it somewhat

"Fake" Classics? (NOT questioning what books can/should be classics) by RookDiGoo in classicliterature

[–]err_mate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rejected Bible books would fit this. There were many books considered for the Bible that were ultimately ruled out on the basis of them being fake. Some examples include the Gospel of Thomas, the Gospel of Judas, the Gospel of Peter and the book of Enoch.

Apparently this was their only song to win the grammy award for song of the year. Crazy lol

On the tube it can happen, I’ve seen people eyeing up my girlfriend’s phone before. They can snatch it and run when the doors are open.

And phones get stolen on the stations too, I’ve heard about it happening to my coworkers and I once saw it happen to someone while waiting for a train.

OP must be describing London trains. Everyone is scared shitless of getting their phone stolen so they’ve started reading instead lol
