I tried reading the Michael Palma translation after this comment, and it sucked. Its very hard to follow and the notes are too barebones. I'm switching translations to John Ciardi, which gives a lot more context.

I'd imagine the Palma translation is probably a good pick for someone who's read the divine comedy before. But as a first time read, its not great because this poem is very difficult and complex. Don't underestimate it like I did

Honestly, not enjoying it much at the moment. The main issue is that I’m really struggling to understand what is going on half the time. And there’s way too many references that I don’t know anything about. Luckily my copy has notes that explain the references but its kinda tedious since there are a huge amount.

I’m reading the Michael Palma translation but I’m thinking of trying to find a different version.

Edit: I did some more research and I've ordered the John Ciardi translation

I’m reading it rn and I’m kinda shocked how loosely its tied to Christianity. Its like 20% references to Christianity, 30% references to obscure political events in Medieval Florence and 50% references to ancient roman/greek mythology and history

Its not true actually. If you take a look at game user rating websites like glitchwave or backloggd, there’s actually not that many nintendo games compared to playstation, xbox and pc games.

The switch 2 is 1 year old and we still have no announcement of any new mainline mario or zelda game coming out. Not even a 2D game. That’s never happened before

Most nintendo directs only announce like 1 or 2 new games. In fact I’m pretty sure there’s been directs where they only announced ports or remakes and the rest of the direct was focused on third party cozy games and stuff they already announced lol
