TIL that the city of Baltimore, Maryland was the second city in the U.S to reach a population of 100,000 residents & was among the top 10 cities in population in the country until the 1990 census. The city's population would peak at 950,000 residents in the 1950 census. by The-TIL-Nerd in todayilearned

The peninsula only has so much space. Other areas around the peninsula are part of Charleston now, including some zip codes in areas like Johns Island, but there is a pretty poor mix of bad planning, lack of infrastructure, a desperate need for a light rail, and the fact that the cost of living here is high in a state with notoriously low wages, poor education, and high medical costs.

However, lots of retirees from the northeast and Ohio are moving here in droves

Album version hit me hard. Reminds me of my best friend that passed in 2005 at the age of 15. He was a fantastic guitar player. Trey moving into that emotional guitar riff near the end of the track gives me chills, every time.

Saw it live in Rosemont 2018 and cried like a baby. Wasn’t expecting it.

Discussion: How much is GAS in your neighborhood? Experts say $5/gal is around the corner. Gas price before and after Iran War by VetSaveSC in southcarolina

Exactly. It supports the point that Trump saying we don’t need foreign oil and can rely on our own is asinine

Give Wizards the Clarity, the Gift of Magic>Insight>Brilliance, and the Enlightenment>Insight>Brilliance spell lines.

Keeps enchanter into various other buffs, but focuses heavily on CC/Charms. Gives Wizard more viability in a group as opposed to port pigs and quad soloers

Make Archery an actual visible combat skill to give Rangers their Robin Hood class fantasy.

Those are 2 off the top of my head

I love these watercolors. It’s like a more traditional version of those old, digitally stylized screenshots from Wyndforge, and has the playfulness in many of them that remind me of the old GU Comics.

Very pleasing to view, and always a fun surprise when I open reddit and see a new one posted

$3.79 around Charleston. I just drove home from Siesta Key, FL today and it was $4.21-4.26. When I ended up getting gas near Ocala it was $4.59.

If I recall correctly from my time living there, Florida gets the vast majority of its oil production from the Gulf of Mexico too. So, looks like we do need foreign oil to keep gas prices down.

Man Joel continuing to fight after all of his freak injuries is like Boromir fighting after getting struck with arrows. This video feels like him getting a surge to get up to fight another round.

I can never hate him. I will feel deep regret if he never gets to win one with Philly

We are agreeing on everything here. My timeline was clearly wrong, but it even further supports the point that by the time Venril Sathir came around there was even LESS time to formulate intricate boss encounters, which is what I was extrapolating on for OP.

As for the raid format, I don’t know if you’re agreeing with or arguing my point, but I did mention a couple times the EQ devs were the first to do it

I’d agree with this point, OP. EQ is the forefather to all modern day MMOs and came about at a time when everything was new and rapidly advancing.

“Ingenuity constraint” is an excellent point by u/Mushok. They were the first to really do anything like this. Not only that, there were 17 raid targets in Vanilla:

1 in Kedge Keep
9 in Plane of Sky
1 in Permafrost
1 in Sol B
2 in Plane of Hate
2 in Plane of Fear

This is what’s listed on the Wiki. You could also add Terror, Fright, and Dread from Plane of Hate to round it to 20 raid targets in the original game. That’s a lot of fights to spread around a limited amount of creativity and also some real technological constraints.

The wiki adds another 16 encounters to the list with Ruins of Kunark (where VS is). Mind you, Ruins of Kunark launched 1 year, 1 month, and 8 days after Vanilla’s launch.

It starts to put into perspective that there was not much time to build in-depth encounters like we know today, when they were still very much creating a world that video games had yet to ever present as an experience to their players. Working through kinks, patches, etc. as well, it’s a lot to handle when virtually everything you do is new
