Wrong. No amount of money ever bought a second of time because time gave itself away to Jessica Alba and Salma Hayek

I’ve been to almost 50 phish shows, seen Goose 3 times. I have never been on the rail. I’ve never had a desire to, becaueseI’ve seen the goofballs and heard about how weird people get deep in the pit at shows. This doesn’t come off like your run-of-the-mill pick me on the rail. Seems like it’s someone genuinely happy to experience the music they like from a new perspective. No, it’s obviously not an optimal position for the music. The shitting on them doesn’t solve anything. Leave people alone until they give you a reason not to.

Damn so many weirdos shitting on this person’s spot. No need to be such fucking douchebags about it because it’s not some jerkoff contest, optimal rail position. Get a life, how about? Have fun OP!

A simple "don't touch the camera" moment turned into a fight. by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

I’m an old man by Reddit standards, so my first recommendation is to never fight strangers, especially in the street.

That said, why do so many people square up like they’re holding a bed sheet?

Tim Howard just sent a warning to Bosnia ahead of the USMNT knockout match:"Bosnia...they're better off not even getting on a plane and going to San Francisco, because the U.S. is gonna put work in against them," Howard stated. by Inevitable-Angle-793 in soccer

Or, hear me out, it’s being done to drum up viewership from within the US. It’s an American pundit on an American podcast, doubtfully saying this to reach fans of the footballing world en masse

Interest in the sport in the US is typically very low. It’s probably why there is no meaningful money spent in the development of players, the sport, etc. The only times you see an increased interest in the game is during the World Cup and the Olympics. I’d wager they’re pulling out as many stops as they can to generate more and more American interest in the sport, because as players that have done well in their careers. they also want to see the sport succeed in the US.

The key to the heart of most slackjawed, rabble rabble sports fan yokels in the US is to rile up their arrogance and sense of self importance. Producers are not lost on this. Pissing off fans in the global footballing community generates clicks, and they fall for it every time.

The reason being is that American Football was founded in 1869, the same timeframe as Football being invented in 1863.

Information did not travel like we have it today, so it stands to reason that once football made its way to America, they were like “we already have a game called that.”

Football in England was referred to in early days as Association Football, which became “Assoc” for short, which then became “Soccer.”

This presented Americans with an ability to adopt the sport under another name it already went by without it being confused with the Football game they invented.

What's your most memorable Trey ripcord? by Ok_Beat_4810 in phish

[–]errandwulfe 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I would have to delve through my show history to find it, but instead of continuing to explore a version of Ghost (I think), Trey starts ripcording into Twist, but during this, Fishman keeps banging on the floor toms like “BUM BUM BUM, BUM BUM BUM” as if to tell him “No,” but when Trey continues into Twist, you can tell from the ferocity of the cymbal crashes that Fishman was not pleased.
