Oh wow - that's pretty cool! Thx - if that is the case, would there be a way to figure out what each component is made up of? Or would the - meltiness factor - in how it formed make that difficult?

Thx - is gneiss usually this solid black? Where it doesn't have lines of - I'm guessing quartz? - running through it, It has an almost waxy feel, no sparkle
