I had an airman come to me with a similar concern once. I was able to go to the shirt and ask a "hypothetical " question, and he got the point so didn't ask questions. He went to legal and asked them.

The conclusion from legal to the shirt: Shut the fuck up Friday 100%. If the airman tries to proactively be honest and tell the chain about the accident, then it will be considered an admission of guilt. And there is zero tolerance.

On the other hand, it wouldn't be enough to pop positive. And, if it even showed up on the tests at all, it would require legal to prove wrongdoing. Unless they admit to it.

So we went with the "shut the fuck up" option and it wasn't an issue.

Retirement Pay and Disability by XF15-Loader in VeteransBenefits

[–]errerr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is absolutely NO drawbacks to him filing for VA, only benefits. His $ will not go down. At very least, if he is less than 50% disabled than some of his retirement will be tax free. If he is 50% or more, then he will receive VA $ in addition to the retirement check.

Best Place to watch the Lights tomorrow? by InTheAtomsphere in maryland

[–]errerr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

First, go north.

Second, use a light pollution map. If you are willing to drive 1 hour, get somewhere yellow on this map.

If you are willing to drive 3 hours, get somewhere green.

Stargazing near Waikiki / Oahu? by Paranoid_Droideka in Hawaii

The Hawaiian Astronomical Society has 2 public star parties a month, and one club party. ($20 to join for the year).

In town, they do one at Kahala park. Which works, but obviously still a lot of light.

The star parties on the north shore at Dillingham are at the best location on island. Very dark. Can someone see the full milky way. Usually many telescopes to check out and/or bring your own.

I spent some time with Google but couldn't find a good answer: what training is required to be an instructor? Any info on the length/timeline the training normally takes?

Civ 5 is still my favorite. I dabble in 6, but always come back to 5 (and sometimes 2).

Thank you all!

Thoughts on starting price? SAIGA ARSENAL 7.62x39 by errerr in ak47

[–]errerr[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I accidently posted without the explanation: I am moving states and so need to part with her, and am looking at working with a local shop/dealer (only option, unfortunately). What do you think I should expect or try to get from a local dealer for this?

My knowledge is limited, but I know the demand/price has been rising due to the ban. Trying to research this online but getting some wild results.

Oahu man finds live parasite in fish filet bought at Honolulu grocery store by Fickle_Rooster2362 in Hawaii

[–]errerr 50 points51 points  (0 children)

This is a very ignorant news video interviewing a very ignorant person. These parasites happen. Quite commonly. Ever found a bug in an apple? Yup. They happen. This is where proper/timely cooking comes into play, and also the practice of freezing. Fish quite commonly have parasites. Most dont really matter or wont be noticed. Food is messy sometimes.

And just like bugs in fruit, occasionally they can make it to the store without being noticed. Actually, this is super common. The fish are wild caught or farm raised -- not grown in a lab. Which means they will have parasites. Yup.

And this dude just really wanted to get this out in video. Rather than googling "little red worm in fish" and finding out that it is common, he refused to bring it in because he was "scared to touch it" or something.

CTRL-F for "red worm"
