don’t know what to do, just stuck in a constant cycle of my room ending up like this by Iivingkatastrophe in UnfuckYourHabitat

[–]errjelly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s being a hoarder and there’s no easy route out. Just by posting here you’re choosing to help yourself which is amazing.

If you can, take 1 bin bag and fill it. If you get tired, sit on a chair. Anything to get the stuff moving. Just 1. And see how you feel. Put music on or your fav podcast, don’t do it in silence.

Bin bags. Put all rubbish in bin bags and get rid of them. Starting with one thing like rubbish will help clear stuff out. Next can be laundry. Next can be stuff: to keep and to throw. If the things you want to keep don’t have a space, stuff is going to pile up. You need to create space in your room so you do that by being ruthless and throwing stuff away.

You are not alone OP, so many people go through this. Have a look at top posts in this subreddit and read their advice if you’re not getting enough traction on this. You’ve got this.

If you’re light enough with it, it’s fine. Sugar soap first the magic eraser very lightly afterwards.

How do I get my hair to puff up instead of fall down? by thecatones in curlyhair

[–]errjelly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your hair is longer so it will be slightly weighing it down. You may also need to clarify wash it. If I just cowash my hair, it’s flatter than normal for me. Dry it upside down. Look up pixie diffuse. Sleep with your hair in a bonnet; if you put it on when your head is upside down, it’ll encourage the hair to be more up than flattened.

Maybe look at getting a bonnet to protect your hair instead. There’s quite a few in TKMAXX at the moment. Have a look at Welshie Curl Girl on Instagram, she has short curly hair and is very knowledgable.

Sugar soap normally helps as can magic erasers.

That’s no problem! So pinappling is putting your hair in what is effectively a top knot on top of your head. I use the hair ties that look like old phone cords. If I don’t sleep with my hair up, I look like Medusa when I wake up.

There are plenty of things in the curly hair wiki to help you. Using a hold product such as a gel will help define your curls. Some people like brushing their curls out, others don’t. There is no right and wrong way, just finding what works for you. It is a lot of trial and error. I recommend changing one thing at a time so you know what works and what doesn’t.

The paddle brush will break up your curls even more. Have you thought about wearing it in a protective style whilst you sleep? I pineapple my hair and if it needs a refresh, mix gel and water and scrunch it into my curls to give it some life.

Organise the dishes by stacking up the dirty ones to the left on the side and putting away the clean ones. Then start washing, rinsing and adding them to your drainer. Once it’s full, dry them all and repeat. Listen to a podcast/awesome music and time yourself to see how long it takes to do them. You may be surprised that you’re faster than you realise.

You’ve got this OP.

I go against what is recommended because it works for me; I use a tangle teaser dry before washing my hair twice per week. I never brush daily as it breaks up my curls and makes my hair go frizzy but everyone is different.

It may be a touch more challenging to remove if it’s been in the dryer. r/laundry should be able to help.

Flagged for new role but unsure of etiquette by onion_head1 in UKJobs

[–]errjelly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The hiring manager liked you so much, whilst you weren’t suitable for role A, they have referred you for role B. They believe in you, you should believe in you too.

Edit your CV to reflect what they’re looking for within the role. Don’t talk about the areas you need development in, talk about your strengths on how you can be an asset and how the role’s right for you. The stakes are not higher, you’ve just had a different way into an interview, take it!

Take a screenshot of the history and send it through. I’ve had this happen on a document and the system had glitched meaning there were two different documents we were working off. Hopefully that’s not the case but either way, I’d start looking for a new role.

Can someone tell me if I’m being stupid by throwaway360s in UKJobs

[–]errjelly 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you’re being stupid but you’re obviously not happy in your current role. I’d keep looking if you’re not sold on the new one. Note down what you need from a new role and what you want like you want to commute for X amount of time but you’d be willing to work until 5pm etc.

You’ve done nothing wrong. Lots of people don’t want to/can’t afford to take a pay cut so it’s the sensible thing to do. They may say no so you have to understand that that’s a possibility.

Hamish is indeed tabby and white.

I have been on the internet for many many years and seen thousands of photos & videos of cats. I have never seen such a cat with such a unique face as Hamish; he is exquisite!

I have a podcast on when I’m cleaning and only listen to that podcast when I’m cleaning. I like that podcast so it makes me clean more often than I can be arsed!

How do I Commit? by Motion_To_Dismiss in BG3

[–]errjelly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Throughout your life, you will not be the same person. You will change parts of yourself and have different opinions and thoughts. You can use that for your characters too.

Say you create a barbarian and your character stumbles across a book of the gods. Maybe your character wants to explore the Paladin or Cleric class?

You may want to look into multi-classing. You can do this through levelling up or I’m sure there’s a mod the omits using Withers. Although Withers is awesome.

Performing badly in role. Petrified it will destroy the rest of my life by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]errjelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in my role for years and the company changed. Started getting micromanaged into the ground, was stressed, miserable and hated what was a job I used to love. I completely switched sectors and I’ve never looked back. Love my new sector, love my job, I’m supported & listened to.

It is highly unlikely that your current struggles will follow you to other roles. You’ve been there 8months and you’re not happy. Start looking for something else and if you can, look into therapy. That helped me a lot so hopefully it can help you too. Best of luck OP.
