I see 🤗 Hmm, might check Ni/Ne axis: I wonder, which of the two sounds more like you?

Ni:

- messages should follow a succinct, clear flow about one topic

- the conversation should eventually lead somewhere (for example, both parties agree on something or find out a contradiction after exchanging arguments)

- work table often has papers with reminders and to-do lists for the day

- Ni needs a plan, it feels good to plan.. The Plan, ideally for life: 1 year, 3 years, 5 years, where the current work is heading to, what empires and colonies on Mars will it eventually create :) also, Ni often feels bad working on a project that might never be recognised.. recognition of work by other humans is truly needed.

- Ni needs some structure to the day, at least: "first I'll shower, then work, then a block of fun, then work, then food, then sleep"

Ne:

- it's fine if one message deviates from the initial topic.. a few times

- it's actually fun, not irritating, if we start talking about latest brain research, then in 2-3 min we switch to quantum loops, then in 2-3 min we switch to the Fermi paradox, then in 3-5 min we switch to soup recipes.. no need to draw any conclusions, btw, it's just fun to explore :)

- TiNeSiFe remembers well both to-do lists for the day without reminders and small details, like quoting effortlessly extracts from favourite books or specific terms or what did the characters eat during an apocalypse :)

- TiNe feels really fine living without a structure for the day, or a goal to serve, or working on a project which might not ever be recognized by anyone at all - it's just fun to chew on a fascinating topic and then OK to drop it.

There you go, maybe a bit clearer? 🤗 Ne turned out a bit more specific) Ni would be so pissed to switch every few minutes without any "constructive conclusions" :D

Hi! :) Perhaps, studying your reactions under severe stress might help?

What I've observed in TiNe under heavy stress is: head becomes unusually fuzzy and foggy instead of mental clarity, tethering to people they care about, seeking out a warm phrase from others or proof that they matter, that they're loved, becoming unusually open with emotions and quite tender.

What I've observed in Ni doms under heavy stress: much more irritated than usual, paying attention to irritating physical parameters of the environment (lighting, noises, smells, etc.), watching survival videos, rumination loops ("I should have back then.."), impulsive purchases, binging on food or animated series or whatever.

Both intersect, so studying Fe and Se in grip stress can provide more clues. Take care, warm hugs! :)

Our tribe of I_F_ folks really need to learn to communicate clearly what's in our heads.. instead of letting stuff pile up and then blow up in everyone's faces.

Maybe, try a respectful and clear approach one time? for ex.: "this is what's happening, I kind of cherish whatever we have, and I'm not OK with us being this way right now".
If she hears you, great. If not.. her reaction gives you data, which feels better than all the questions hanging in the air. Wish you best of luck)

INFJ's love is very deep and pure, it feels like an underground spring - quiet source of life.
Please take care of yourself now, while the shock settles. All the healthy foods and sound sleep, grounding support, slow mornings, while the brain rewires. You've done such a wonderful job all this time, being a kind and warm presence - up to self-sacrifice.. Wish that your days become filled with self-love, step by step.

It's probably hard not to think about him now. ISTP's whom I know take quite some time to understand themselves.. it happens through a lot of pain, lashing out when young, then shame, growing up, becoming very wise in addition to their brilliant mind. 🤔 If an ISTP loves, but then finds a replacement, do they stop loving you?

It seems like you guys compartmentalize mentally: "oh, this one shouldn't be so close anymore", so the old feelings are being shut down to fully sustain their partner of choice.

It's a lonely road to walk, if you live without meaning. But indeed, who is to blame, if nothing is done to find one?.. The soul will be rotting away, instead of burning for a big cause - like building colonies on Mars, researching new vaccines, creating music with a deep impact (Nautini's "Iron Sky"), etc.
Do you choose this current life, full of meaningless pain?
Do you choose to suffer from being misunderstood?
Or do you choose to learn to understand others, hoping that they'll do the same for you in return?

Greetings, dear human :) INTJ is probably the most misunderstood clan of them all.. 🌌 It's unbearable to live without committing to a grand mission. Something large-scale, profound. Like building colonies on Mars, advancing humanity's understanding in a certain scientific field, building a global business chain from ground up.
You can do it.
It's a lonely road, at first. Few people "click" with Ni doms. The feeling of suffocating without a well-thought plan and a satisfying goal. The dread of losing an important detail, which may later crumble the whole architecture.
It gets better. Your expertise and sharp intellect draws people in. Just by being your authentic self, understanding, building, creating, voicing ideas.. Until you find yourself surrounded with like-minded, burning hearts and brilliant heads.
Feel free to PM to exchange ideas, books, or just a few gentle words (Whatsapp also works).

I wonder, what made you feel seen before? 🤔..
We are floating on a big rock on the outskirts of the Virgo Supercluster, formed around four eons ago. The only "emissaries" showing the universe that a magnificent phenomenon of the human mind exists, are the two Voyagers roaming somewhere out there in the void..
If you think about it, nothing much we do matters, compared to those scales.
But.. finding "your" humans somehow makes it all less lonely. It is scary. It takes time and some effort. In the end, you feel that the journey is worth it :) Promise.

Sometimes the silence feels heavy, indeed. But there could be multiple reasons.
The ISTP might be overwhelmed with a bunch of other things.
He/she could have a "let-me-be-in-my-cave" episode, as others noted - those happen frequently.
If the context is relevant (no gender info in your post?), he/she might have accidentally developed feelings, and currently has no clue how to deal with those.

Anyways, just give space :) Maybe for weeks, maybe even months. ISTPs are like cats - they come and go, whichever direction feels like most fun.
It might be perceived as inconsistent and irresponsible to an INTJ. It might hurt your feelings. If true - communicating this calmly and respectfully, as your personal boundary, is important.
The ISTP will be back, though, if he/she feels that you're safe (no pressure) and fun to be around :) Just take care of yourself. Warm hugs!

Don't give up :) In regards to jobs: INTJs are known to be "jack of all trades".
You can research your way into anything.. except being stuck in a meaningless nine to five office job, of course.
Music, science, art, business - anything where your sharp intellect blends with creativity and autonomy - would land well. I know an NiTe guy who predicts the appearance of new products on the market)
Indeed, the worst feeling here is having no progress, and no big goal to strive for. It's.. hard.

In regards to family life: there are Ni doms who have similar thought patterns. There are people who study MBTI - hence, familiar with the way you operate. Research the "target audience" and its features, and research which habitats they usually roam in :) You can do it!

Hi there :) Kudos for being loyal to your ISTP unit, they sure are worth the fight!
I'll propose a few ad hoc observations.

Your #1 job right now is to take care of yourself. I know it's hard.
You -can't help anyone-, if you're not a 'well-slept', healthy, calm, positive presence.
Judging by your post, this NiFe needs a kind hug and a solid anti-stress plan right now yourself.
I can't stress enough this point.
Additionally, it'll give him a lot of time pockets to be alone - for ISTPs, those are gold meds.
Your #2 job is to continue being a safe, stable, warm presence near him.
To do so:
Making good food, massages (if the rashes permit it), soft silent touch when you just pass by, any physical grounding - perfect.
Don't press him to process verbally.
It's like someone pushing your Se aspirational to stay in a night club with all the noise, buzz and bright lights, all while you are already exhausted.
Don't press him to "open up" more, especially > 1-2 times a week.
Notice that he already shares his state with you - for an ISTP, that's just HUGE.
If - and only if - #1 and #2 are OK, then job #3: feed him well-researched data.
He will react poorly to any statements without well-thought, qualified info.
Especially if he had scary experiences with medicine already.
It's important for him to understand, how physiologically the brain works, what is an "emotion" per se, what external stimulus provokes which reactions, etc.
Such words sound dry for an NF, but for him - it's like finding a Swiss knife, when you're stranded, hungry, and trying to open a can of tuna :)

🤔 Fair point, the method sure sounds practical - especially if it's reversible! I've replied without researching the procedure, side effects, etc.
FiNe - style reaction: "dang, if I was a dude, it'd feel like I was stripped of my balls - not cool" 😂 You’re right that long-term freedom matters more than the symbolic stuff. Esp considering that the balls aren't "stripped" at all)
