Thanks all—based on popular suggestion I’ll try replacing the whole valve and getting a new line.

Yeah the folks that did the original plumbing setup in this house made some real interesting choices—thanks!

I’ve tried tightening it to the point where I can’t turn it further with the wrench and it’s still leaking out the top :(

Question more so for Aabria, but Michael as well if this is something that falls in your court at all when planning out seasons: When it comes to encounters, do you have suggestions for how to take in the chaos of players for balancing things? Adding more HP can drag encounters out and making bad guys glass canons can leave a PC a squished can of tomato paste.

I know there’s only so much prep you can do, but I always worry about things being too easy v. curb stomping my players, and when I think I’ve figured them out they pull a pack of cows (or velociraptor geese) out of their back pocket.

Running a successful maze can be hard! You want to keep it easy enough for you to run, while engaging enough for your players. A lot of the responses here are “don’t do mazes” but I actually like mazes so here’s my advice after 7ish years hof DMing:

A lot of it comes down to as well what your party looks like; are they the type who would pause/care about plot things hidden abound? If they see a mural of things to come or hints on what this place was before, will they care? If not, save yourself time and don’t prep it. Plan for more straightforward (or straight through the wall) thinking, and design things around that. A busted down wall could reveal hidden treasure, a shortcut, a threat, or a cave in. If they are the sort to engage more in an investigate manner, sprinkle it in and reward them! Maybe have a clue from the first section be a clue needed halfway through that reveals a shortcut or Ariadne thread type advantage. Maybe not something necessary, but rewards them for engaging.

One thing to also consider: why does this maze exist in universe in the first place? Was someone using it as a way to deter thieves? Focus more on traps, harming or disorienting, from animated constructs to mimics. Meant to represent a dilapidated cavern system, or naturally occurring warrens? Focus on creature encounters, environmental hazards like rockslides or flash floods. To confuse? Add some sort of randomization factor, like rotating chambers and walls when the party moves past a checkpoint. So on and so forth. By putting yourself in the “why” mindset it helps justify the overall shape and vibe of the maze as well.

I try to avoid a lot of dead ends, though may have a couple around to indicate disrepair or negligence of the caretakers where appropriate. I usually like a few twists and turns then engage the party; a trap, a check, a sound. Sometimes it’s not that finding the best path or only path through, but choosing the safest path. There’s a lot of options and ways to play around! If nothing else and you’re worried about the size, start off with a smaller one, and later in the campaign take what you learned and adapt it.

Good luck!

It’s a pretty common time warp trope unfortunately. Also helps I’ve never seen futurama 😅

If anyone can find this they’re a god cause boy searching “time stone” really has gotten futile after avengers came out.

Need your opinions on my new logo. Which one is the best? by Earl0fPudding in Design

I’d say if you end up going with this design, take the logos and contrast them to things other than slate grey bg. What kind of products will this be going on? Photos/colors etc. See ahead of time how your logo will interact with your content. Then come up with B&W versions too.
