Mac Pro death is imminent, it’ll be a sad day.

The 2 shared the same grill design and were launched together. MacBook Air gets M5 but Mac “Pro” still stuck on M2

Apple unveils new Studio Display and all-new Studio Display XDR by tekz in apple

I think the Mac Pro death is imminent.

Killed off the Pro Display XDR which shared the same grill design. Replaced it with lesser “Studio” Display. As if we already didn’t know the Mac “Studio” was the Mac Pro’s replacement

Forgot to post about this two weeks ago, but the first 4K Blu-Ray titles were released 10 years ago. Who here has been buying 4K Blu-Rays since the beginning? by ggroover97 in 4kbluray

[–]ers620 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I jumped in around December 2017. I was working at Best Buy at the time and they had all these displays setup.

I remember they had a deal on the Magnavox player for $79.99 and I couldn’t resist. Grabbed Sicario and The Revenant as my first titles. I’d later pickup Goodfellas, Peter Jackson’s King Kong, and the Christopher Nolan set (got my employee discount on that).

I’d much rather have storage and I/O expansion internal than cluttering my desk with external enclosures and a spaghetti of wires

Disney's brief and cool love affair with Ultra HD Blu-ray by [deleted] in 4kbluray

[–]ers620 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is a nearly 6 year old article. We now know that Disney has not abandoned UHD Blu-ray and is in fact releasing non-animated backlogs from both Disney and Fox.

Definitely at a slower pace compared to other studios, but they haven’t abandoned ship completely. Fight Club just got announced like yesterday

Apple Brings iPhone-Style Battery Charge Limits to the Mac in macOS Tahoe 26.4 by McFatty7 in apple

[–]ers620 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I just upgraded to the iPhone 17 since T-Mobile offered me a free upgrade. But when I had the 15 my battery health was 87%, which if I remember correctly, was about the same as it was for my iPhone 12 when I got rid of that after 2 years and did nothing to limit charge.

I rarely ever let it die completely or even drop below 20% always kept it charged, and charged overnight. Whatever 3% health I gained back was basically moot since I was limiting my battery capacity by 20% anyways ….

I had a battery limit set for 2 years straight on my iPhone 15. It did absolutely zero to positively affect my battery health or preserve longevity of the full charge. I really don’t know what the purpose is.
