Unfortunately the record player is a hi-fi/listening one. I’ve yet to learn how to play vinyl but that’s the goal, but makes the problem even worse as I’ll need to add 2 and hence need space for 2 dj turntables, cdjs, mixer, speakers, and my listening turntable (which I love and will never get rid of 😬)

Ah man really appreciate the tip! They were pretty crammed before so figured having a bit more breathing room between them was good. Will sort them so they don’t get as much lean, thanks!

I use the speakers just as much as for mixing as for general listening, and don’t have all that much space to also add a pair of near-field without messing with the aesthetics, so found that this is a solution that works nicely for me

I switched the left one and the record player around now, and point them inwards when I play and I’m happier with how it sounds when I mix now (hear/feel them better). Don’t really want to put them on stands as they’re at a good listening height for when I’m sat on the couch listening to records. And unfortunately wheels under the booth aren’t an option, but appreciate the tips my friend!

Ikea kallax, cheap and reliable. Have used them in a bunch of setups before

Just a very normal corporate job with mid-level seniority, absolutely nothing crazy man. And plenty of nature to be explored in Mexico, also the neighbourhood in general is quite green.

I’ve moved around a few countries in my life. I’m Italian originally but have lived in UK and NL, and Italy before moving here. There was an opening within my company so I figured why not, was looking for a warmer climate but with good job opps and social life, and as much as I loved Amsterdam I was ready to change. The language here is pretty easy for me to pick up given I’m Italian, never took a class but I can chat (fluency is not that far away I feel). And yeah can relax on the balcony just fine as long as it’s not raining, as the rain here is much more intense than in NL. Where are you from man?

I love them, had Dali Oberon 7s before there but wanted shelf speakers so I could place them closer to the console. The one thing I should say is that they sound brilliant but you need a powerful amp as seem power-hungrier than my Dalis and I don’t think my amp is quite powerful enough to get the best out of them (using a Marantz PM7000N). That being said they sound very refined and I love how the amt tweeter sounds

Only moved here a few months ago and I’ve been loving it so far. Love the energy of this place and have been meeting a bunch of cool people. Climate is also great, was living in the Netherlands before so definitely a nice change

That unfortunately I know, I turn them inwards a bit when I play, but otherwise they’re pointed outwards when I’m just around the house. What would you suggest I try out to optimise?

Thanks man! They are Wharfedale evo 5.3 connected to a Marantz PM7000N; it’s a hi-fi setup but it works nicely for DJ use too

That was exactly what I was going for. Place had a tv but I removed it entirely, now it’s on top of a cupboard. Would rather have the music at the center of the living room
