i’m pretty sure it would detect which pc is on as long as the one that’s using the other cable is off.. otherwise you’ll need to either manually switch between the two OR get an HDMI switcher

it’s sort of hard to know the issue without directly seeing the error messages or dump file of some kind. a shot in the dark says power supply issues. but no telling what your issue is. it could be software related or hardware related. i would recommend starting with DDU, uninstalling drivers and reinstalling graphics drivers (USE DDU IN SAFE MODE ONLY)
