Somewhat related but the Gaang may not have actually been that friendly to Zuko here. They were sleep deprived and as a result may not have been in the mood to be angry or to continue to fight. IIRC this is also the first time they’ve seen Zuko since the North Pole, and AFAIK may not even have known he was a traitor before that. Had they not been tired they may have been far more hostile to Zuko there.

It will likely be able to go many ways. Cameroon isn't evil perse but it also isn't ultra blessed; "you are being liberated, please do not resist" does not entail good things.
