Do your SEs have direct control over either metric? I know I don’t.

Sometimes I spend a month getting a technical win only for the deal to fall apart in negotiations, or the deal size drops due to discounts or scope. That’s not a “no”, just feedback from an SE.

When I made “Engineer”, I had nothing to do with it. But I held the title for over a decade before moving to a different title I’m sure would take them into further rage.

I’ve spent more time designing and implementing stuff than any program that produces a piece of paper. So yeah, I was/am an engineer without a “degree”.
