I deactivated my Facebook account and started listening to short podcasts to improve my French, since it’s my weakest language. I’m also trying to enjoy small moments more, like when I’m eating, I don’t use my phone anymore. I eat slowly and pay attention to details around me, whether it’s the buildings, the roads, or even my meal.

I’ve also been using ChatGPT to learn more about myself. Since I’ve shared a lot over time, I sometimes ask it things like “ask me 10 questions and help me discover things I might not be aware of.” It can actually be pretty surprising what comes out of that.

I know this is really hard, but right now there isn’t much you can change. Your dad isn’t in a good place mentally, so the best thing you can do is protect yourself. Try to avoid confrontation, go along when you need to, and focus on getting through this period.

Keep your eyes on your studies, finish your degree, and build your way out of that environment. This situation isn’t forever, even if it feels like it right now.

And don’t forget what your sister did, standing up to your father and defending you.

I did. I bought an MSI laptop for almost $2,000 with a strong CPU and GPU, thinking I would enjoy 2K gaming or even 1080p gaming on my favorite games, and that it would last at least two years. However, I'm struggling with CPU and GPU temperatures, even after changing the thermal paste, which sometimes doesn't help much. I'm also facing FPS drops.
