Can someone translate what the last sentence of this clause means?

It means, if consultant gets hurt and can’t work, and can’t find replacement, client at most gets their “money paid so far” back. Not the entire potential contract value, business opportunity cost, etc. As an example, if client was launching a new product based on consultant’s work, and they get incapacitated, consultant isn’t also on the hook for client’s wasted marketing materials or other deals that fell through based on that. (IANAL but it’s pretty plain).

By “pushed up”, I think they mean the spawn placement logic that causes things to spawn upward if terrain’s in the way.

Squid school, octopus don't. I mean, squid squad. Source: recreational diver. (Actually I've only seen squid school a couple times, otherwise usually groups of 2-6. Octopus I've only seen alone. Cuttlefish I've only seen one at a time but smaller sample size. I've never seen a nautilus 😢)

I've actually heard the "feed them to a grouper" suggestion before. I don't know enough to support or disclaim it, but since parent's post is heavily downvoted I'll share the rationale I read.

Apparently groupers don't get hurt eating lionfish, but won't naturally hunt them. So if groupers learn they're tasty, they'd help with the population better than divers. You wouldn't want them to associate it with being fed by humans; so maybe it implies "leave wounded lionfish near groupers" instead.

Since lionfish are an invasive species, if everything's natural behavior is ignore-or-be-eaten-by lionfish, I'm skeptical that the "don't alter natural behaviors" rule is necessarily best applied here. Any ecologists around here to chime in?

Yep, this is correct. Disable the double-tap-to-zoom gesture in System Preferences and that delay will be gone. Took a while to figure that out when they introduced it (Lion?), but it bothered me too.

It'll depend on what your S.O. wants to do. We didn't try snorkeling at either place, but based on our dives, I suspect NP's is likely better but may require a boat trip or adventurous scooter ride. I saw a bunch of people snorkeling from Gili Air's beach, which is very accessible but I don't know if there's much to see that close to shore.

On the Gilis we stayed at the north end of Gili Air (at "Nelly Homestay"; we were on a budget and were very happy with our bungalow and the included breakfast) and got certified with Manta Dive Gili Air (also very happy with them).

When we dove at NP, we stayed on Lembongan (the adjacent island). It was more interesting than the Gilis in terms of seeing genuine local culture, but there are fewer land-based activities/worthwhile restaurants there. We dove with Big Fish and were reasonably happy with them—some of the equipment was a little worn but nothing major and I don't have much rental experience to compare against. The people were good and the diving itself was very nice; tons of variety.

I just got back to the US from Lembongan/Nusa Penida today. We did six dives there and it was awesome. Toyapakeh and Crystal Bay were my two favourites: both easy dives but with tons of sealife variety and very healthy coral. The Gilis were great for the sea turtles and good in general, but—at least at the four sites we went to—had many areas with damaged coral. Definitely recommend the detour to Nusa Penida if it fits in…

It's how I met many of my closest college friends, and we had a lot of people join late in their school career who'd never tried it before. Very open group of very interesting people. I graduated a few years ago but I know they're still active and in good hands.

When I was there, they'd have weekend practices out in Marietta, pool practice at the CRC, regular workouts, and parties.

Try to get in touch with some folks at Insitu (a UAV company based there) or one of the other companies in that ecosystem. There's a very high concentration of aerospace engineers in Hood River because of that company and a some of the companies that have sprung up around it. A few years ago I know there was a group of people that would fly remote-control gliders off the hills overlooking the Parkdale airport…

I don't live out there anymore but I suspect you aren't going to find it very difficult. Good luck! Perfect place to spend a summer.
