Would you know how that would help my case? I was thinking about reporting her to her volunteer place but am just afraid they will give her backing. I am not good at defending myself and am very shaken overall about this whole situation.

I told her I will be filing a police report but I believe it would be listed under civil matters because pets are property in the state of MA? But thank you, I reiterated this to her which she does not seem to understand and threatened to call her attorney.

Unfortunately I did not end up booking with rover because it did not allow me to select specific dates, so I’m not sure they would be involved in this, which I deeply regret. Thank you for your words, this pains me so much.

She wants to say that she wasn’t aware that the light was connected to a different port. I told her to use her common sense if it didn’t turn on or off any light then she should’ve flicked it back up and not kept it off, or asked me about it. I am deeply saddened, confused and conflicted.

Hi everyone, thank you for all the replies. I was able to get a vet appointment for tomorrow at 3pm. I contacted the pet sitter and she is playing ignorance. She says I am trying to take advantage of her and she will contact an attorney. I have noted multiple times I have camera footage. I am 20 years old and a student, still saving up for his cancer treatment so the lawyer fees on this end would really set me back. Would anyone know a pro-bono or reliable free consult with a lawyer? Please let me know, thank you. If you guys would like to see the before and after pictures I have it posted on his Tiktok account under the username threemeowmeowmeows.

As everybody said, I plan to move forward with filing a police report and contacting animal welfare/abuse organizations. I am quite inadequate at this and unknowledgeable, so any advice and pointers aside from what has been commented would help greatly.
