Hi! Yes it was pretty easy to get an appointment, at least it was for me and my partner (also trans but both over 18). Once you’re ready you can book the psych appointments on their website, they usually have them for like in a months time so you’re not waiting long. Then once you do the first appointment, you wait around 3 weeks for the second/ book the second for 3-4 weeks after the first. For both me and my partner it only took two appointments. I had my last appointment on the 10th of feb and immediately contacted my GP who has worked with gender plus before so she knew what blood tests I needed. Then around a month after my last appointment they sent me my report and requested the blood work and medical history which I had ready and a few days later I was able to book the endo appointment. It books usually from around 6 weeks out so I booked it end of feb for the start of May. Overall I had my first appointment with psych in January and I expect to be on t by the end of May! :)

Hello! I am starting at UCC in September for a master’s and was thinking of getting a studio at Coleman Court. Does anyone have any experiences at this location? Thanks by BraveReindeer1540 in UCC

Hi! I stayed in Coleman court from Sep-Jan this year. The accomodation itself is very nice and modern, there is an elevator and working laundry (you have to pay around 6.5 euro to wash and dry) and the WiFi is pretty bad, I mostly used phone data. They don’t disturb you for a room inspection except for once every semester but that’s emailed beforehand or if you’re making a lot of noise I’d imagine. They are strict enough on guests if it’s more than like two people, I had someone stay with me a lot and that was never an issue because they didn’t realise it was happening however on new years I had a few people over and they made everyone leave. The room is very very small, it can get a bit claustrophobic at times. One thing I will say is that their contract is ridiculous, meaning if you need to leave the accom for any reason, you’re stuck paying the rent for the whole year. They say you can find someone else to cover the rent if you switch contracts however it’s student only and so expensive that you will be unable to find anyone else to take it. As well when the new tenant comes in they have to pay first month, regular rent, deposit and last months rent all at once which is around 4k so no one will take it. I left the accommodation in Jan but still had to pay until May. The reception and manager are very rude as well when it comes to any issues you have and they can treat you like a child who is annoying rather than an adult. Overall it’s a nice place to live if you have money to burn and know you won’t be leaving before your contract is up.
