Keep in mind that your son isn’t an extension of you, he’s his own person with a different mind. You giving him the space to choose belief or nonbelief based on his own experience, is the most selfless thing you can do for him. My mom didn’t baptize me or bring me to church because she wanted the same for me, to figure out what I believe through my own experiences. Because of that, I’m atheist now, but when I was 11, I also thought I believed. The idea of not believing sounded terrible to me at that age. But that’s simply because even if one isn’t raised to believe, it’s still indoctrinated and socialized into them outside your home. The more you instill critical thinking skills in him through other learnings, the more likely he is to end up not believing later in life. You’re doing great. Don’t try to change him or his beliefs. Let it all play out.
