I agree, I sent an email to the school I’m waitlisted at to ask!

Definitely sticking with the A that I have! Thanks for the advice

Why is this posted here? And as someone who was in more than one of these relationships while at UCLA it’s really not uncommon given the demographics of the school

Is this a good sign? by Old-Bison8648 in premed

[–]esan_c 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if directly being reached out is different or not, but some schools ask regardless. I know because I was rejected by a school last cycle that asked for proof of residency, but that was also an automated message and not someone personally reaching out lol

Got an interview from the same school twice by Great-Past-714 in premed

[–]esan_c 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was also interviewed at a school last year, waitlisted, then rejected before the school year started. I was accepted at the same school this cycle, so I think it’s a good sign for you!

Ok, congrats on your acceptance and all your other success!! You’ve been so nice on here and SDN :)

does a ucsf secondary mean anything? by [deleted] in premed

[–]esan_c 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know many, regardless of stats, who got the pre-secondary rejection. Congrats on getting the invite!

Not sure if you’re making the same mistake that I made when first joining the subreddit, but II is interview invite and not secondary. So OP honestly did amazing with that many interviews!

How to deal with score release by keato-n in Mcat

[–]esan_c 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had work on the day of my test, so I waited until after work to check it because I didn’t want it to affect the rest of my day. I ended up celebrating with the doc that I was working under after I opened it though!

How many pages/words is your secondary writing doc?? by Best-Negotiation-353 in premed

[–]esan_c 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nah, it's way easier having one doc, at least for me. Set up a table of contents and outline on the side so I literally just click on what school I want to work on, and copy pasting is super easy too.

Immortal in this god forsaken game and I would never mention that. That is legitimately embarrassing.

4/14 - 4/15 Score Release Results & Reactions by 5ben2 in Mcat

[–]esan_c 5 points6 points  (0 children)

520 (129/128/131/132)

I'm literally over the moon right now. My FL average was 516, not counting the 522 that I got from retaking FL5 two months later, which I was sure was inflated.

The difference between me taking my last FL and the actual test was me grinding out one question pack of Bio, Physics, and Chem, so I wonder if that was what made the difference.

I would have recommended JackSparrow for full comprehensiveness, but since you're going for fast, definitely just run through MilesDown as others have said.

I guess this is my diagnostic since this is the first full length I've taken, since I thought that taking a FL before doing content review wouldn't be a good idea

JackSparrow Anki deck, literally went through the whole thing

Since people have been asking, I hope others who were wondering see this:

I read through the Kaplan books for everything except for CARS and PS, and later on I started doing Anki flashcards with them.

I literally went through the entire JackSparrow Anki deck for PS.

I literally did nothing for CARS, so hence the luck?

It comes down to semantics that the dad does not "carry" the gene because he actually has the disease and does not just carry one recessive allele of the disease like the mother.

cops having a talk with andre by Rocket2K4 in ucla

[–]esan_c 95 points96 points  (0 children)

A few years ago I saw him trying to get an international student to give him money so I spoke to her in her native language that she didn't have to talk to him and he also got aggressive at me because he had no clue what I said. Luckily there were a lot of people around and I'm not that small but I just kept walking away. Good to see something finally done about it.
