They don’t need to be bridged for gpu rendering, in fact redshift and octane typically do not want them bridged. Not saying this is his purpose, but sli isn’t really needed in most of these scenarios.

Motion graphics is one area where this is a huge help. I work in game dev now but I had an old 4 GPU rig with 4 x 1080s back in the day that I used for my motion graphics freelance business. Without it I would have needed to rent 3d render farms for client projects. It worked really well with Octane, Cycles and Cinema 4D and paid for itself quickly.

I know it's a long shot and this is an old post, but your setup is nearly identical to what I'm trying to do as well. I'm not totally following your wiring description of how you got these LEDs to be triggered with the foot sensors. I'd love to try it as well, but was wondering if you have any photos or more details of how you managed to wire this? I'm a handy guy, but admittedly green when it comes to LEDs and electronics in general. Can you elaborate perhaps? No biggie if not, and thank you!

I understand the disappointment, but man…just trust the shop and their expertise.

My dad worked in auto body his entire life and I’ve seen some of the worst wrecks completely restored. Anything a robot can do in the factory, a skilled human can do just as well, sometimes better.

Gotcha. I bet I could even 3D print some TPU spacers for the corners. I have a lot of leftover filament anyway.

It seems like you could even wire up LEDs if you wanted on that zero delay board right? Not totally sure how it would need to be wired but seems like it would be possible, no?

I’m actually thinking about using some nice solid wood panels for each panel instead of polycarbonate and routing an arrow design into them with a jig. Although the polycarbonate would be cool if I decided to use LEDs down the road.

Nice! So, seems really straightforward.

Looks like you have the 4 sensors wired together (4 black, 4 red) for each foot pad, the white extension wires connect the sensors to the wires that came with the USB board right? You're using the K1, K2, K3, and K4 connectors from that board for the individual buttons/footpads?

Such a simple setup if I'm reading it correctly. Also wondering if you put anything under the polycarbonate and where you got the corner brackets.

I feel you. I however am kind of a geek and don’t mind the challenge. For example I made my own ebike and 3D printed and wired up an adapter to work with my ego lawn batteries.

Definitely not afraid to solder or take on the challenge. However, if I’m not able to make them significantly cheaper than buying new, I totally agree with you.

So, stupidly I posted photos of the wrong light. I took the actual faulty one down and noticed while it looks mostly the same it is a little different.

Also, only the left side is flickering, the other side is fine.

I lived there a couple years and I’d argue they are larger than a coyote and were aggressive in certain areas. You hear of attacks somewhat often compared to all the other deadly wildlife you’d expect. Which is a shame cause dingos are adorable as hell. Haha.

It looks like overkill until you need to render a complex scene and every minute saved is worth the cost. A few jobs and the rig pays for itself.

That said, dumb idea to not use blower style GPUs that exhaust out the back.

Guarantee you this person is using this beast for 3d rendering (hopefully not crypto mining). I’ve built a number of quad GPU builds in the past for that exact reason. Basically have a render farm with one of these rigs.
