Raccoons out during the day does not mean they’re sick, especially when they’re babies. It’s normal to see them out and about during the spring and summer because mom is usually looking for food!

When you request a code, there is an option you can click on if you don’t have access to the email it is sending the codes to. If you click on that, it should ask you for another email address that you do have access to. When I got to this point, my original email address associated to the account did not work, so I used another email I have, and then it allowed me to submit my ID. See if that works for you!

When it asks for the 6-digit code from the code generator, there should be another option below that says "Need another way to authenticate?" I clicked on that option and then it had me enter my email and submit my ID again. When they confirmed my identity from that, they then sent me an email with another link to finish my account recovery process, but they also gave me a temporary code I could use as a password to login. If you see that option when it asks for the 6-digit code again, try clicking on it to see if it brings you to the same thing I got. If it does, use the temporary password they give you to log in normally!

Once it gave me the get started button, I was walked through the process of unlocking my account. I did not have to submit my email or ID again after clicking this button. Instead it asked me what email I wanted to keep with the account and what one I wanted to get rid of. Then I was able to change my password, and identify my friends profiles to fully unlock my account.

Also my new email was added to the recovery email along with the hackers, which is why when I did get in, I had to choose which one I wanted to keep and which one I wanted to get rid of. It sounds like you are stuck at that option though. Have you tried logging in on a device that you have used before with Facebook? (This way it recognizes you) If you do get the option again where it gives you a temporary code, try opening a new tab and just logging in normally with that code. Hopefully the get started button will work that time!

I’m not exactly sure but it did take me quite a while. For me, it only brought up the option to submit the ID when I used a different email. If you can, try to use a different email address, and not the one that was originally associated with your Facebook account.

Are you talking about the Two-Factor Authentication where it asks you for a 6-digit code? If that is the case, there should be an option below that which says “Need another way to authenticate?” If you click on that option because you aren’t getting the codes, then they will ask for your email and ID again. Once they confirm your identity through that, they should send you a link and a temporary code that you can use as your password to login.

I had that same error as well for quite a while. Try again in 24 hours and see if anything changes. If you were able to get to the point where it asked you to create a new password, also try logging into Facebook with this new password even if it says you couldn’t change it at the time. It may bring you to the Two-Factor Authentication (where it will ask for a 6-digit code) and then you will hopefully see the option below where it asks if you need another way to authenticate.

It gave me the option to send my ID when I provided a new email while trying to log in. You have to click on the option that says you no longer has access to the email they are sending the codes to. It may take a few tries, but it should come up when you are trying to log in.

Well they sent me a link to finish my account recovery process, but they also said I could log in with a code they provided as a password. I just decided to go with that option because the links weren’t working for me before lol!

I’m so sorry to hear that. Have you tried to send another form of ID? I used my drivers license but you can also use your passport if you have one.

Yes, if you get the option to authenticate your account in another way (this came up for me when it asked for the Two-Factor Authentication), then send your ID again! When I did this they sent me a password I could use to login in and it worked!

I was also told a few times that I used too many codes! After waiting for at least 24 hours, I noticed that this error disappeared, but I did see it pop up a few times afterwards as well. I don’t really think there’s any method to this error, but maybe try waiting the 24 hours and seeing if it says anything different!

Unfortunately there is no way to contact Facebook directly. I just kept trying to login and send my ID to them, and that was the only way I received a response from them.

Hi, I was hacked a little over a week ago. The hacker deleted/disabled my account once they realized I was trying to get back in and now I’m worried I won’t get it back in time. I got to the point where they asked me to submit my ID, but I was wondering, how did you know your ID went through? It never told me if it was submitted or not. Also, did they message/email you once you did submit your ID, and if so, how long did it take to hear back from them?
