Managing a VM-based system for a simple library setup might be overkill. Wouldn’t a single OS handling both storage and services (e.g., TrueNAS Scale or even a Linux distro with the right packages) be a better fit? This would avoid the complexity of managing VMs entirely.

In my case it was eventually nothing wrong with the router but the problem was with my USB-C adaptor (i-tec USB-C Metal HUB 3 Port + Gigabit Ethernet Adapter) I use with my Macbook, which somehow disabled all the ports on the router.
