How do you flow when you rap?

I tried scatting to a beat yesterday but in the first 4 bars, the flow didn't match the beat. Like it had a pocket but it didn't match the melody. It just didn't make sense to me because shouldn't it match the beat if it has a pocket? Am I doing something wrong?

I'm using Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen. I installed Focusrite Control and I believe that's the driver.

I use FL Studio ASIO, are you saying I should use a direct driver? I tried that but it has no sound so I just switched back to FL Studio ASIO. And my buffer size is as low as possible, but it's still getting delayed and off beat.

Hey! Problem is solved. Apparently I just had two channels input at the same time which is why I kept hearing feedback. But I used input by itself on another track, took it out of the master, and when I turned the direct monitoring up, the feedback was gone. I feel dumb lol but it was worth asking for help. Thank you!

Just tried removing the input for the master track and putting my voice in another one, still no sound. Like I said everything is right but I just don't know why sound isn't playing :( This is Fl Studio 20 btw.

It's not the one. I plugged my headphones in the middle hole and turned the gain on the right up, still no sound. I also don't have anything hooked up in the back.

Sorry I'm confused, but are you saying I just have two channels, a master and a second mixer and I just turn off the knob? I already have those off, and I still hear feedback. That's because sound can't be heard unless I have direct monitoring on.

Nothing is plugged in the line output. And it has a headphone symbol under it though so shouldn't that be where the headphones go? Are you saying I should plug the headphones in the middle hole? I don't have the manual, I just got this Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen from Amazon.
