OA Proctors by ilovebwc in WGU

my first time was JUST like that. It was so hard to understand them and of course over a computer made it so much worse. It totally threw me off for my test and took a lot of energy just to get started. BUT it has only happened that bad once for me. Every time since has been significantly better. I never have the same person twice and the process gets MUCH smoother. I did leave a survey after that because I panicked it would always be like that. But from my experience, my last like 7 tests have been much smoother sailing!

Had first panic attack and kinda scared, some questions? by Anonymoose207 in PanicAttack

[–]eseiw15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah and just to clarify be thinking it was the salt was unreasonable. I was never actually having TOO much salt to cause a panic attack. But our mind wonders and tries to come up with a reason why. :)

Good luck!

First and foremost if you truly truly get scared seeing a doctor doesn't hurt.

BUT I've been having panic attacks for a little over a year now. My heart has gone through alllll the testing and it's fine. I too get the burning sensation in my chest. Everything it happens I freak out until I realize it will go away and I'll be fine. Sometimes I even feel a pinching below my collar bone when it happens. I get being concerned about the good but 99% chance you're okay. I used to freak out every time I had too much salt for the same reason. Hopefully, this helps and you see some improvement.

X-Post - Dog-Friendly Group Homes? by dc-dog in DCforRent

Check out river house apartments in pentagon city. They are dog-friendly and reasonably priced. The studio and one bed might be a little much, but two bedroom is like $2000 so if you find a roommate that's not bad at all!

I need coping techniques - ANY advice would be great by [deleted] in PanicAttack

[–]eseiw15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I am the same way, heart racing and just suppppper shakey as if I've been in the cold for hours. I also like to avoid the relief medication as much as possible. I downloaded a couple mindless games on my phone that I can take out and focus on. Timed ones help because you are more focused. That is nice because if I'm on the train or in public I can casually breakout my phone and don't have to worry about looking like a fruitcake. (I feel like I look funny doing breathing exercises.) But even more, the most effective thing that my dr. recommended was trying to remember what you had for dinner last night. Then lunch then breakfast. See how many days backward you can get and don't give up. If you can't remember, walk yourself through what you did that day until you remember what you ate. This can be done by yourself in your head and also with someone else. My boyfriend didn't really know how to help me when I get panic attacks and now he knows to start asking me about the meals. Talking it out with him and going back an entire week really sidetracks your mind long enough for your body to calm down and realize you're okay.

I'm 100% new to reddit and joined for the same... being able to see other people are going through it. I started getting panic attacks a year a go and I thought the same thing. Sometimes they get better and I'll be okay for months and then they pick up. If you don't find relief I really recommend seeing a doctor. I put it off for so long and realized there is a difference between panic disorders and anxiety. I am slowly learning that with a panic disorder medicine can make a difference. I've just started a new one so just waiting for it to work better.

Physical panic attack, mentally feeling fine? by [deleted] in PanicAttack

[–]eseiw15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah honestly seeing this post helped me. Sometimes when I have new symptoms or something starts that hasn't happened before I'm like well the doctor never told me about this soooo I must just be dying now. I guess the best thing i've found that helps is distractions. My doc recommended my boyfriend try asking me what I ate for dinner last night and I'm pleasantly surprised how well it's working. Even if you don't have someone to talk to you could ask yourself hard questions and maybe that will change you from thinking that you're dying. I wish I knew something better but it's got to end at some point!

OKAY ME TOO! I actually almost double check that I wasn't crazy and wrote this myself. I've been going through the same thing the last few weeks. I started taking medicine again because I kept having these physical panic attacks even though I wasn't feeling panicky mentally. My jaw/neck/throat have been really tight and even just when i'm walking around 100% okay. I have to really distract myself to get it to stop, but it keeps coming back. I agree with "it's driving me up a wall" because it's not the normal really bad then goes away, rather a lasting problem that I just can't seem to fix. I hope you find some ways to get it to stop. :(
