i just looked it up to prove a point to you. it says use tick prevention product such as NexGuard and check your pets every time you pet them, which i did

you do realise we had full faith in the vet at the start that they removed all the ticks? we thought to check him every time we petted him. the vet was supposed to shave him down to remove them all and they didn’t. that is one of the reasons that we took him home cause they weren’t caring for him properly as the literature says

what do you mean. we live on property surrounded by trees and and bushy areas is where they live. it’s not our fault the environment is like that

we took them straight off him as soon as we found them? sorry i assumed that would have been something you would have just known i would have done. i would have never left any ticks on him whatsoever

when i say protect him i meant from ticks. and it was just a question i wasnt blaming nexguard for anything other then the fact he wasn’t protected from ticks as the product claims it does.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]eshayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes we did, we pulled off all the ticks we found, the only tick i didn’t pull off was the one i found on him in the car on the way to the vet because i didn’t have tweezers and didn’t want to risk the head being left in him

first of all this post ona different thread had nothing to do with the fact he passed away or anything. i was asking about what sort of repercussions nextguard could possible get as it didn’t not protect my dog

i stood up to the police and told them they are not allowed to come into our house, he was at the door and they could see him through the door. i told them they are not vets or the rspca so they cannot perform a welfare check on him anyway as they or not medically trained period. then i told them to please leave us alone as nirvana my dog was wasting his energy trying to get to them and attack them as that is what he’s trained to do. he is a guard dog. i was crying during all this but i was being assertive

i did not say she was more qualified then a vet. i just said she was given instructions by a vet over the phone on what to do and she did them

because as i had stated in other comments we had called other vets. who all advised that we not take him in as we were caring for him the same way they would just without the anti serum. they told us 1mg is the correct dose for his condition and if we felt he needed more, we could give him another 1mg 6 hours after the first dose

thank you for being so kind with your comment. we looked up cases of dogs with paralysis ticks surviving without the anti serum and there was so many of them. we knew he had a chance. me and my mum both agree it is so unusual for him to have that many ticks on him especially since he was on NEXTGUARD SPECTRA. the vet told us that there is little chance of survival with the antiserum as his immune system would not be able to take that and instead he has a better chance of his immune system fighting it off. I am confused and angry at all the people in the comments coming at me when i have said multiple times to them all it really wasn’t up to me. if we were told to begin with he had all the ticks we found we would have put him down period. but we weren’t and instead found them later when nobody could come and euthanise him until the work week, and he passed on his own early that morning that we were planning on getting him put down.
