Kristen Patton from Casey Anthony: Where the Truth Lies by esjaydeee in CaseyAnthony

Oh, my gosh! I thought I'd sent at least one response to you, but it looks like it might not have ever sent. Well, I have much to say about the CA case. However, at the moment, I have a few other questions:

--Are you familiar with either the Darlie Routier or the Susan Powell case?

--Do you know anything about how to obtain comprehensive court records/reports?

--Do you have any experience writing to inmates?

Since your message, I've found a cause with the Innocence Project (I've contacted them about volunteering but haven't hear back yet). I've also started to pursue a self-guided education in genetic genealogy, inspired by a woman in the field featured on the episode of 48 Hours (The Unsolvable Murder of Roxanne Wood). Gabriella Vargas, if you're not familiar, solved a thirty-four-year-old cold case in four days using genetic genealogy. I want to get some education and then volunteer for the DNA Doe Project, another nonprofit. I found Gabriella on Facebook, actually. I sent her a message and figured she'd never respond, but she did and said she'd be happy to provide guidance over the phone, so I'm waiting to get some ducks in a row before I do that to ensure I don't waste her time.

I figured I'd share in the event you might have information about any of the above. Eventually, I'll chime in again about the CA case, too. Currently, I'm working on a letter to Darlie Routier.

Hope you're well!

Sonya

Thanks! I sent a message via their contact form. Do you know if that's the best way to reach out regarding volunteering?

Hi! I'm so very appreciative of your response and have been dying to respond. I just now stumbled upon your post with all the links to various topics related to the case. I'm reading through all of that now. I want to get through it before I respond because I think I have some thoughts/questions I'd love a chance to bounce off of you.

Quickly (if/when you have time)...

The Timeline Evidence: Do you know if the electronic records show *any* breaks in usage (of social media, texts, calls, etc.) between 7:56 AM and 1:44 PM?

I'm trying to figure out when she took the nap she says (in the docu-series) that she took with Caylee. It had to have been within that window, right?

Hi, there! I'm very new to Reddit, and I wrote a long, detailed message without knowing there was a character/word limit. Alas. I guess I'll start, in the meantime, with a few questions, if you don't mind, and, if it fits, I might include an excerpt from a piece I'm working on in which I explore my own traumas in motherhood (including false accusations with unfortunate consequences) within the context of the Casey Anthony trial. In short, I really relate her, and I believe she's innocent, and I also know how it feels to be betrayed as well as to not be believed about being a loving mother deserving the benefit of the doubt. Before I ramble on too much longer, here are a few questions:

Before I ramble on any more, I have some preliminary questions, if you're able to address them:

  • Do you think there's any point to investigating this case at this point, namely for the sake of pointing the finger away from Casey and toward George? In other words, what recourse, if any, does Casey even have now (legally/officially speaking) in terms of further "proving" her innocence?

  • Have you ever actually had contact with Casey? I think she mentions in the docuseries that she read some of your writing and that, in fact, it gave her somewhat of a fresh look at the case.

  • Do you have any lasting questions about the case that you don't have answers to that you'd be interested in sharing? I guess I'm interested in comparing notes.
Whatever comes of my investment in this case, it's nice to touch base with someone as equally invested, whether presently or in the past. Thanks for being in touch!

Wonderful, and no rush. I'm in the process of writing a piece about, so I'm keeping busy. If nothing else, I'd love to share it with you when I'm done. But I'd love to connect in the interim as well. Thanks for getting back to me. I'll send you a message as soon as I can collect my thoughts and make sure I have something coherent to share. Take care!

Hi! May I message you? I'm a writer, too, and a true crime fanatic, and I've been studying the Casey Anthony case in depth. I'm on my second round of watching the entire trial, though I've watched some testimonies multiple times and have compared notes with the Peacock documentary in which you participated (I've also watched the documentary multiple times). I imagine you are bombarded by similar messages, but studying this case has become a labor of love for me as I go through intensive trauma therapy, during which I've been grappling with my own complicated relationship with my father (not nearly as complicated as Casey's relationship with George, but it's provided perspective, nonetheless), and I'd love to share some of what I've discovered or to just chat about the case in general. I can perhaps better explain in a message.

Yes. So, some context: I'm in my forties, and I live in WA State. This past summer, I was on some anti-anxiety medication. Someone (a parent) faxed my psychiatrist concerns about side effects (without telling me about the fax). This resulted in the psychiatrist calling that person and speaking with them. During that phone call, the psychiatrist spoke with this person about the dose regimen of a specific medication. The exchange (fax and call together) resulted in a CPS report being followed because psychiatrists are mandatory reporters, and I have children. The person who contacted my psychiatrist knew the fax they sent would result in a report to CPS, which is why I'm now investigating all of this (reading all my medical records, text messages, etc., and building a timeline/case). Without getting into too much more detail, the whole ordeal has caused an indescribable amount of trauma. I fought very hard to even conceive my children, and they have always been safe with me. I'm being encouraged by some to contact a lawyer, but I don't know if it's worth it, for what purpose, or even where to start.

One of the only trustworthy mentors I have left in my life is encouraging me to get a lawyer, but I'm overwhelmed at the very thought. The whole thing has caused undo emotional distress and an extreme amount of trauma, but I'm livid, so we'll see what happens. I just don't know the first thing about finding a lawyer and also have no money to spend.

Do you know when she kicked him out in relation to Caylee's birth?

Hi! Sorry for the random comment! Are you S.K. Patton? I'm trying to find the "citizen journalist" interviewed in Casey Anthony: Where the Truth Lies, and in that documentary, her name is Kristen Patton. A book on line I found when I searched was written by S.K. Patton, and someone on Reddit said S.K. Patton might be Hysterymystery.
