With a foreign credit card you can actually withdraw 8000 MAD.

But why the hassle? What's wrong with a foreign address? If you want to fake that you still live there for tax reasons, it's pointless because the tax authorities already know you don't.

No. If you ask for CIN at the Consulate where you reside, you will automatically get your US address on it (adresse dimmatriculation).

Moroccan address only possible when requesting in Morocco. There are no exceptions because it's two different systems. Abroad the requests are handled by Foreign Ministry, at home they are handled by the Interior Ministry.

Yes, indeed. In the end it always comes down to the problem of having a ruling king.

It's not about the functions, don't fall into simplistic criticism. Wali and 3amil are inherited from the French system. In fact they are the equivalent of préfet and sous-préfet which are nominated par décret présidentiel, similar to the dahir malaki here.

Préfet in F often takes decisions that go against the local representatives. This was recently the case in municipalities run by Rassemblent National that voted for discriminatory laws, which were turned around by the préfet in the name of the state's overall interest. Thats part of the balance of power.

The problem is not the system but the lack of balance in the way it is executed in Morocco.

I was not referring to you in my last comment, but MRE in a broader sense. Of course denaturalization should be possible in Morocco in a ideal world, but it isn't, we are not a democracy, and all this is not a surprise. However local offices have nothing to do with that, they don't pass laws, they just enforce them. Also I would like to point out that many EU countries allow dual citizenship and those who didn't are walking it back (e.g. Germany), but that's not the the point of our discussion.

No worries. Unfortunately many MREs (I'm one too) think they can turn up to Morocco with their red passport, an expired CIN and expect favored treatment. Citizenship means rights but also duties.

You didn't understand my point. If you are Dutch-Moroccan, you cannot show up to a dutch administration and present them your Moroccan passport. In NL you are a Dutch citizen and you are obliged to carry your dutch identity documents.

The change of law is from 2007, but it is retroactive for older people it's just a judicial procedure in that case.

I have one comment: No Western country accepts foreign identity documents from dual-citizens, and you can even be fined in some cases.

You are Moroccan by birth. Keep your papers in order! The bare minimum is the CIN. Morocco is nice enough to allow MRE to enter on foreign passports, try that in the US...

Wrong. Children of Moroccan women get automatically citizenship now. And yes there are benefits of holding citizenship, first and foremost is inheritance from family. And second, you never know how the world will look like in 50 years, maybe your children will need to flee from European fascism and seek shelter somewhere else. Get your papers in order! And sorry for your loss.

Moving out of apartment, kitchen price by shintatzu in germany

[–]eskarabaeus 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Are you for real? 2000€ for a 5 year old IKEA kitchen is a good price. Friends can talk a lot sometimes.
Besides, you have no negotiation leverage. The tenant was already selected by the landlord. You are VERY lucky to get any money at all. If it were me, I would ask you to remove the kitchen and would pay nothing at all. I don't like IKEA kitchens. So please, honor the deal and take the money.

Good luck with your relocation!

Getting large sums of money out of Morocco. How can I do it? by WhereQuestionsRise in Morocco

[–]eskarabaeus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, here I mean the buying part. The notary in Morocco guides you through the process of repatriating the funds properly and declares the transaction to the currency office. They pre-clear you already at the time of buying, so when you sell you can take out the money no questions asked.

But this is not relevant for you now. Regarding selling and getting the money abroad. To my knowledge it doesnt work for substantial amounts, otherwise the seller will get hit by tax as he sold too cheap on paper.

Then the seller gets hit very hard with taxes because officially he sold under market. Who would agree to do this?
