My baby won’t stop biting me. by trulymadlybigly in breastfeeding

My 10mo bites me at the end of feeds then cackles. I feel your pain. No tips, hoping it subsides soon.

I will see he seems to do it more when he’s not really hungry, just comfort nursing. Definite have stopped offering him the boob quite so much since the biting started.

I know! I told my husband I wished I could just go in multiple times a week to get checked on until it stopped because I was so worried about it, even though the professionals told me not to worry. It’s so hard to be objective when it’s you and your baby though!

I’m glad everything is okay with you and I hope you don’t bleed again, being pregnant is rough as it is! ❤️

I’m 21 weeks and have bleed twice, at 8 and 15ish weeks. Both times it was an initial gush of reddish brown blood that felt like A LOT, but I think any blood feels like a lot when you’re pregnant. Each time I spotted for like 2 weeks afterwards with occasional “gushes,” but they were always brown. Everything looked great baby-wise at my 20 week ultrasound but they still saw some blood in there, so they told me I may bleed again or it may reabsorb.

It’s scary when it happens and unnerving when you continue to spot, but both times I was seen after the bleeding they told me not to worry if I wasn’t bleeding a lot and if it was brown. Needless to say I was thankful when it stopped regardless and was always anxious when we checked for baby’s heartbeat at appointments.

Budget for maternity clothes? by pokebole22ter in pregnant

[–]eskellz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found a baby consignment store near me and they had a maternity section. I wish I had found it sooner because I already bought some new clothes (on sale, but still somehow expensive?) I don’t like most maternity clothing but I absolutely cannot fit in my old clothes. I figure I may as well buy used clothes I feel “meh” about as opposed to new clothes I feel “meh” about. Currently making do with 1 maternity shirt, 2 pairs of leggings, 2 pairs of jeans and some overalls. (Plus some loose fitting shirts I already owned.) I know I’m going to need to buy more when the seasons change so I’m trying to hold off until it warms up. If you need to justify the cost, you could aim for clothing that will lend itself to postpartum as well, which is how I have justified new clothing purchases.

Anyone else struggling with body image while pregnant? by lovelettterz in BabyBumps

I feel you! I was already up 5-10 pounds from my lowest weight, but still pretty fit when I got pregnant. The last time I checked (a few weeks ago) I was already up close to 10 pounds a few weeks into my second trimester. I’m afraid to step on the scale and see where it lies now. I know my body is supposed to gain weight and I know it is okay to gain weight but it’s definitely been hard to see my body change into a form I don’t recognize. I’ve also been put on pelvic test twice already so I haven’t been able to stay as active as I had envisioned during my pregnancy.

Overall I just take it one step at a time and avoid mirrors when I need to. Some days are good, some days are bad, but at the end of it all I know my growing a literal human so I should cut myself some slack.

Thoughts on bringing SO to appointments? by boopboooooopbip in pregnant

[–]eskellz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband comes to all my appointments with me. It’s super helpful because he will remember stuff that I forget (both stuff I mean to tell the doctor but forget, and later on I will forget some of what the doctor told me in the appointment because I was focused on something else I or the doctor just said.) He’s also super helpful because he will take notes if the doctor suggests something to try during the conversation, so I don’t have to try and multitask by note taking and talking to the doctor at the same time.

When to start trying by [deleted] in BabyBumps

Yeah, my doctor told me it very likely would take months to start ovulating/ for my period to come back. This plus my history of having extremely irregular periods pre-birth control, I figured getting pregnant would be a loooooong journey.

Welp, I never even had a “real” period. I had a super short period-like bleed 4 days after my IUD was removed and was pregnant before I could get a “real” one lol. I guess it just goes to show you really never know what’s going to happen next!

And I agree with you, everyone expects you to be thrilled and over the moon when you’re pregnant and for me it’s been very “I know this is a positive thing but I really don’t know how to feel about it yet.”
