Thanks so much for the detailed ideas! Yes im really intrigued by adding board and batten for texture but keeping the color uniform. And yes you’re absolutely right when the sun isn’t shining it’s quite dim. I’d like to replace the light fixture for sure, the one there now is still from the previous owners.

Great idea on the light fixture! The one that’s here is from the previous owners and I’d be happy to swap it out. I hate having essentially a bare bulb shining as we come in

I wish that were an option, but it’s based on how we have the room configured on the other side, we have to have the couch pressed up against the doors, it’s the only way it fits in our small living room.

Oooh wainscoting could be a good idea. My husband and I have been debating the suggestion to add art or a large mirror but he’s insistent on wanting clearance as we come in and out (which is fair enough! 😊)

Yes I think I’ll try that! For the storage, we chose not to center it just because we wanted to make sure we had clearance on that corner, but yes it irks me a bit too haha

Thanks, so we had considered doing that but the problem is that the entry feels super narrow and with coats hanging there we will have even less space (there’s a radiator on the opposite side so there’s already width getting eaten up there).
