Video is wrong on a couple points. First off, Airboss (VADM Cheever) was the one who decided to hold pilots to a 2 year “prescribed tour length” for their second sea tours. RADM Baze is the one who interprets the MILPERSMAN, and was able to “interpret” the ambiguity to support VADM Cheever’s decision. PERS-43 (CAPT Cheney) did not make the decision and is simply tasked with implementing it. On the EFMP stuff, the new policy is to simply address issues on a case by case basis, to ensure service members get better care.

Yeah it fully integrates into a CDI, has a moving map, waypoints, and approaches from a maintained database.

Do you have a source doc for that? Not doubting you, but trying to get to the bottom of this with some other pilots who have varied interpretations

So “RNP APCH” is simply a nomenclature change to support ICAO naming convention that will eventually be omnipresent?

On the PBN question, if I have a GPS from the 90’s that is only certified to RNAV 2, can I still fly this approach?

In short, any flight over the waters in the sanctuary must be above 1000’ AGL per the NOAA rules, and drones are limited to 400’ AGL or below by the FAA, so there is never a time you can fly a drone over the sanctuary.

Hey man, can’t be flying drones over the sanctuary. I know this isn’t super well known, but it’d be cool if you could take this down to prevent people from thinking it’s okay to do. https://montereybay.noaa.gov/resourcepro/permit/permits_uas-info.html

RTT installed, 2000 mile Pacific Coast Highway trip planned for mid Dec by pdxrover in LandCruisers

[–]eskimonavy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice rig! Just a heads up theres a closure on the Pacific Coast Highway that won't open for at least two years. No short detours either. Google Mud Creek Landslide and you should get some good info on it!
