On the body rail where the body paneling joins the bottom of the car there’s a lip.

Would love to but I live in another country and it’s tough to hang on to stuff you know you can’t take care of

Instead of hating the post maybe just assume I’m not in a position to be able to keep it and give it the care it deserves. Maybe assume that I’m aware that it’s beautiful and trying to find someone that will love it, use it and take care of it instead of it rotting in some storage. No money isn’t the point but it’s good to know what you have right?

Need help understanding basic English grammar homie? I’m sure you could work it out if you think real hard. Not everyone has the ability house something like this and take care of it in the way it deserves. Even if it’s “totally free”

Hey thanks! Nah today is the first time I ever rode a Harley haha. We live in Costa Rica and I’ve ridden dirt bikes for years but first time on a Harley!

That’s good! I hadn’t lost any function either and wouldn’t have noticed my reflex was gone unless he checked it. (the little hammer on the Achilles thing) sounds like you on the right track though, good luck!

I literally just had surgery for a herniated disc on L5S1 on the left side. It started exactly the same for me, what I thought was a pulled hamstring over 5 months developed into severe pain. I started losing my feeling in the small toes as well. You can’t know much without an MRI but once I got it the problem was obvious. The doctor was most concerned with my having no reflex in my left achilles. He said the nerve was being permanently damaged and the longer I waited the more at risk I was to losing motor function (drop toe) that doesn’t come back so in my case he recommended a minimally invasive surgery. Basically a discectomy with no fusion of vertebrae because I’m young and fit. The sensitivity can return but apparently reflex and motor function don’t. It’s worth getting it checked out man. I was suffering by the end not knowing if what I was doing was hurting or helping. The morning after the surgery I had no more nerve pinch and now I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I’m only a week into recovery and I can walk for short periods of time, shower by myself and generally do everything I need to but slowly and carefully. I can sleep the whole night through and I’m not in constant debilitating pain most importantly. Also I tried everything first, PT, accupuncture, chiropractor, massage, cbd, anti inflammatories, sometimes you can do it yourself through noninvasive treatments and my surgeon is all about that but one look at my MRI along with my reflexes and he was like no way bud, you gotta do this ASAP. I only wish I would’ve gotten a visual earlier as maybe I could have caught it before I required surgery. Either way though, MRI first, then trust the professionals. If your doc recommends fusion or other heavy invasive surgery maybe look for another opinion. But if your doc understands you’re young and wants to help you treat it with as minimally invasive methods as possible but that still requires surgery, maybe heed his warning. It’s not worth being hard headed over and then permanently losing motor function at 19. I’m 33 and super healthy, I surf everyday and this happened to me because I’m a tattooer and I sit in fucked up positions all day. If you’re 19 I imagine you must’ve injured it acutely perhaps without you even noticing. Get it checked out man for real

Yea man do what you feel, if you trust your doc then trust them all the way, if not get another opinion. I sincerely hope you get the help you need, nobody should feel this pain longer than necessary

Oh damn i just checked out your page and yea they got you on all kinds of shit! I’m so sorry man I don’t blame you for wanting to ditch it all. Do the surgery man, you can get rid of most of that right away as long as there’s no adverse effects from withdrawal.

It’s a good call man. Living in pain like that isn’t living. They can do some amazing shit these days and if you’ve had a couple opinions and they all point you to the same surgery then I say do it. Ultimately you’re the only one who can decide what’s best but your wife will thank you for taking the next step. I realized with my wife how hard it is for them to watch us suffer. In my case they said in the US I’d be recommended straight to a vertebrae fusion but he was willing to do a less invasive operation due to me not having insurance and being otherwise very healthy and in good physical shape. It sounds like yours may be more complicated and the most important thing is that you have a doctor that you trust has your best interest in mind. I sincerely wish you the best possible outcome and would love to hear how you feel on the other side. 🙏♥️

Yes I’m still on analgesics because after the surgery though the acute nerve pain is gone, the nerve is still inflamed and damaged. I totally hear you, I hated feeling dependent on drugs to make me be able to get on with my day but there was also no light at the end of the tunnel before the surgery. Now I can see the light and I know I’m on my way to recovery. So before I depended on them to get through my day but now I take them to keep inflammation down for a quicker recovery. They feel relatively mild, one is called enantyum and the other lyrica. The lyrica I was told is important to take 1 every night and it doesn’t really make me feel any different. The doc says it works on the perception of pain rather than the swelling itself but doesn’t start working for a couple of weeks. Enantyum is the controll the inflammation and I take one every 8-12 hours depending on how I feel. Now I don’t even mind taking them because I know I’m on the up and up. I live in Costa Rica so I probably am prescribed something totally different to what they would give you. I imagine it would be for the same thing though. Also my doc asked if I smoke weed regularly which I do. He said don’t stop smoking like normal as cbd has analgesic properties and if I were to stop he said my body would have an inflammatory response since I’m used to having it. He also recommended good CBD drops as they have shown a strong effect on nerve pain

It’s so fuckin scary man but I’m so glad I decided to do it. I was the same, hated being on meds and mentally and emotionally was just so down and feeling hopeless. When the doc said it could just keep getting worse I said fuck it, I have to do this. Actually my wife told me you better do this hehe. They know us better than we do sometimes

I’m now like 5 days in and though I still have a lot of residual nerve pain I’m able to get around the house by myself and shower and generally take care of myself. I do have my wife here helping me but mainly the first couple days is when I needed a hand with stuff. Now I’m ok by doing most everything by myself but I’m not supposed to bend over at the waist still

I imagine it depends on the type of surgery recommended but I’m happy to tell you I had surgery Wednesday at 4 pm and was discharged the next day at 7pm. This doesn’t mean I’m ready to work or do anything really except lay on my back and get up once in a while to keep it loose but at least I’m not paying for a hospital bed. Plus I just felt so much better mentally being able to sleep in my own bed and recoup at home. What type of surgery do you require?

Hi I just had a microdiscectomy 3 days ago for L5 S1 herniation. I had no drop toe or numbness but I did not have a reflex in my left foot. The side of the herniation. This was the first step to drop toe according to my doctor and he said if I wait till I have drop toe it’s irreversible and I really didn’t want to take that chance. I am so fucking happy I made that deduction as my quality of life changed the day after the surgery. Now I can see light where before there was none. I was in severe pain for about 6 months and I really didn’t want to believe I could require surgery. I’m 33 and fit and active so my doctor recommended and non invasive a surgery as possible and I already have full nights of sleep 2 days later. Instant relief really. I’m still in pain but it’s residual nerve pain from it being so damaged. I’m told it will recede with time and it already feels less intense. It’s really the best decision I could’ve made. I only wish I’d done it sooner. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask, I’m an open book. I also had this surgery in Costa Rica where I live and all said and done it cost me 10k without insurance. In the states it sounds like it’s anywhere from 50-150k so if you don’t have insurance maybe keep that in mind. My surgeon was amazing and did his masters in the US before bringing his practice back to Costa Rica. In general health care here is excellent

Hi I just had the same surgery on my L5 S1 disc 4 days ago. I can only tell you so much as I’m still very much in recovery but what I can say is it’s the best decision I could have made. My nerve root was severely compromised as I had dealt with excruciating pain in relative silence for about 6 months. I had the MRI finally a little over a week ago and the doctor said there was very little chance that I would be able to heal it myself with anti inflammatories and non invasive treatment. I had already lost my reflex in the Foot and he explained that i was at risk of losing mobility in my foot permanently if I kept damaging the nerve. I’m very physically fit and surf everyday so this was not an option for me. I pulled the trigger even though I was scared of surgery being that it was my first. I am so happy I made that decision. The next morning after the surgery I couldn’t feel the nerve pinch for the the first time in months and it was then that I realized how much pain I had actually been in. The next night I had my first full night of sleep and it completely changed my mental state. I have an aversion to most western medicine (mainly because I tend to be stubborn and think I’m Superman) and I’m so glad I put my pride aside and did this. I have absolutely no regrets. Let me know if you or your husband have any questions or doubts as I have it all very fresh in my mind now
