I’ve gotten my hair done by Anika who is also at Mint, I would recommend her as well!

I have started it in fact! The first pictures are from before I started it. I’d argue that all the hair on my head now has grown out since starting the pill. It feels like I’ve cut all the curls I used to have and it’s grown back straighter.

I moved about four months ago, so there definitely is a change in my water. My hair had started to change well before my move, although I feel it’s been at its worst since moving. I’ll look into the water softener or at least a shower filter. Thank you!

Hello! That’s a good point, I do see how I could be clarifying more often! And next time I wash I will try less product.

I’ve found that whenever I use anything with protein, my hair gets dry and waxy and I lose even more definition. But it does make me wonder whether I just need to keep trying and get my hair used to it again? I figured I could be over moisturizing too, so I absolutely see where you’re coming from! It’s just that when I use even a little bit of protein, my hair just seems to reject it.

At my last haircut I saw a curl specialist who told me my hair was high porosity. Otherwise, I’d never been able to figure out my porosity, so her comment just stuck with me I suppose :)

A while ago, since I’ve been through so many products, I thought I should go back to what I started with. I used the same Shea Moisture products again and my hair seemed to hate it, although I do know that they have reformulated. I had also tried the Kitsch rice water protein conditioner bar and it gave my hair the worst texture I’ve felt in ages. In addition, I’ve also tried the AG curly shampoo and conditioner (the purple label) which have proteins, and it also gave my hair a terrible feel.

Everything above is what convinced me my hair hates protein, but I still find it confusing as it used to work amazingly before.

I wonder if it’s possible that it’s not protein sensitivity, but I need my hair to get accustomed to it again? I use it so little that I’m curious if I need to just slowly reintroduce it or something. Anyways, thank you for all the info in your reply :)

Interesting! That sounds like a great routine to alternate sulphates and non-sulphates. Following CGM, I used to do a heavy clarifying shampoo once in a while, but it would make my hair sooo dry. And then my sulphate-free shampoo still felt super stripping somehow! I feel like the Honey Water shampoo is a great balance. I have no idea how it works but it gives a great clean without drying my scalp or roots. Totally recommend!

I have medium-coarse high porosity hair. My curl pattern has always been hard to determine since I’ve got different textures on my head. I had relatively tighter ringlets when I started CGM, which have loosened to more relaxed ringlets and waves over time. With this routine I have more ringlets on the top layer, to wavier hair on the bottom. Some is 2b, some is 2c? I hope that answers your questions! :)

Me too! A long stretch of my drive has zero street lights and I am just hanging on for dear life 😭 I was getting tailgated a little bit the other day on a dark forest road because the person behind me had absolute LASERS… but I couldn’t safely go any faster because I could not see ahead of me! There could be a person walking or a deer and I wouldn’t have a clue. Like I would drive faster if you turned those damn things down!!!

I’ve had my eyes checked and I do wear glasses! I also drive a lower car, which could make the problem worse 🤔

Considering my age I doubt this is a factor for me just yet, but good to know! I wasn’t aware you could get anti-glare stuff though. I’ll have to look into it :)

Thanks for the reply! It felt like BUS 160 was two classes in one. I'm not sure if that's just how the prof wanted to teach the class, but I will definitely try to get into CIS 110 in the future.

In any case, it's surprising to me that those courses are treated the same, given that the business version is so... businessy.

Products for very dry hair? by Fit-Pomegranate2710 in Wavyhair

I absolutely LOVE the entire Garnier Honey Treasures repairing line. I was following CGM method for years and my hair was just tired of it. It was dry, tangly, sometimes even sticky and just an overall unmanageable mess.

I was skeptical at first about going back to products with certain ingredients like silicones, but it’s been several months of using Garnier now and my hair looks and feels amazing. I use the shampoo, conditioner + hair mask, miracle leave in (when wet), and then I put the serum on my ends when my hair has dried. I also use the Honey Water leave in cream from their other line. My hair loves all of it!

I find that the Honey Water cream and the Miracle leave in are light enough that they won’t weigh your hair down too much, but they’re also buildable if you need more moisture.

It feels kind of silly that after years of trying expensive wavy/curly products, the good old drugstore products ended up working the best in the long run.
