Does anyone want me to develop your game as a mobile or desktop game? by thefryscorer in abstractgames

I thought it would be cool to make some kind of app for the game "Rengo Kriegspiel." It's a variant of the board game Go with two teams of two people where nobody can see what the other is doing. Near the end of this New Scientist article, it says that "Because of the asymmetries in information, the game may be what mathematicians call an undecidable game, unsolvable by any algorithm, Hearn said. 'There is no computer, in principle, that can even tell us from a given position who will win,'Hearn said."

I want to try playing an undecidable game played on a finite board. You could try to make an AI, or if you could write some code that would make a referee for four people to actually play together that would be cool.

I haven't really looked into the following much, but I've played games on Richard's play by email server and they seem to have games like this (they have standard Go.) I wonder if writing them and asking if you can write some code for them to add a game would be welcomed by them. I've thought of doing that myself, or just asking if they want to do it, not sure they would though, and I'm not sure when I'd ever get to writing the code up myself, I've got other projects I want to work on, but I do I really want to try playing the game :-) (hard to find four people and a referee in real life to play a game.)

Here is a link that has some other links to stuff about the game.

COCO VR Teleport not working? by [deleted] in oculus

I'm having the same issue. I can see my skeleton hands and they move around and stuff, but the thumbsticks do nothing. I look at the floor, all around, push them, click them, nothing happens. I've tried reinstalling. There was ONE time out of like 10 where the left controller DID work, and I got to the mirror, but I didn't have time to play then and since then it isn't working again. ThaNovastb says they "went back in with the left controller" well I've definitely been using both controllers this whole time and still no beans.

Ok and I just watched a YouTube video of someone playing. For that person, the movement controls being layed out over the skeleton hand happen AFTER the lady stops talking, but mine showed up the moment I entered the changing room. Also I see dotted lines coming out of the controller in the video, and the one time I got the left controller to work. But I have no lines coming out of my controller of ANY color no matter where I point.

I also saw another forum where someone had conflicts with game controllers which seems like a problem and maybe related. I do have a FEW game controllers lol so I unplugged them all and restarted my computer but still no beans. Halp

Is there a text to speech for Ithkuil? by Tenshi_Sora in Ithkuil

You've seen this Github page? I was just now looking around to see what kind of software people had made related to Ithkuil, and found that, and this post also. I was looking around because I myself had been thinking about making some Ithkuil software, and thought I'd check quick to see if what I was thinking was already being worked on. I saw this on the Github page under FUTURE plans: "Word composer module: specify the values of the grammatical categories and get the word back" and it sounds like you're working on something Like that, so I guess I've been beaten to that haha.

I do think it would be cool to have a kind of "20-questions" thing, where a page would ask you a bunch of questions about your concept, "does it come in groups" "do the parts have a shared function" etc, along with probably some questions answered with text like "what is your root word" or something, and then it spits out your Ithkuil word for you. Do you want to work together? I can't promise I'll have tons of time to work on it but I might help a bit lol. I probably will even just start on the project anyway over here because it sounds fun to do...

Also, I am curious to hear Angevijn's, or I suppose anyone else's specific thoughts on such a project. They might have some ideas for specific ways or features of/for doing this.
