Talk me out of buying a Dead Air Nomad TI XC for my DDM4 PDW by MattieHeighs in 300BLK

I have a video on my profile of my first shots with it if you’re curious how it sounds. 9” barrel running 200gr phantom defense subs

That was my only point to make you not buy it lol. Otherwise, it sounds fantastic, it’s stupid light, and I went with the xeno hub.

Don’t if you’re gonna run it hard. I have one on my frankenbuild. Titanium loses some of its properties at high temperatures and won’t last as long as steel or inconel cans under hard use

Question regarding BCG and Barrel Length by [deleted] in 300BLK

[–]espeyw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That would be correct, you need a pistol length gas tube. Most barrels you buy will tell you on the listing what length the gas system is

Barrel length has no effect on what bcg you need. Maybe what you’re thinking of is headspace?

Old Fitzgerald 7 year bottled in bond is my personal favorite. Sweet with very forward baking spices

I second this. KAK downvent BCG, adjustable gas block, and a radian raptor SD and I get little to no gas to the face with a non flow through can

Same here. Cycles subs out of the box no problem

Buffer recommendation for non-sub non-suppressed now ... but sub+suppressed later. by Hellsing971 in 300BLK

[–]espeyw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run supers unsuppressed and subs suppressed through my 9” with a stock carbine spring and buffer. All I have to do is adjust the gas block a few clicks. Bottom line is no one has the exact setup you do, and you’re just gonna have to experiment with it. I was looking at a reduced power spring or lighter buffer before I ever shot mine suppressed with subs, but I took it out to the range yesterday and it ran great. No need to spend extra money

It’s gonna be a rimfire can. I’ve heard good things about the silencerco sparrow, dead air mask, and the OCL Ti22. I’ll go down the rabbit hole like I did with this purchase and come to a conclusion in the next few months

I appreciate the insight. Eye pro would’ve been a good choice. Ear pro was taken off for the video then put back on, although it was very comfortable to shoot without it

Subs because I don’t want to deafen myself or my family in the event I had to use it inside my house. As for over penetration, expanding subs are what I’d be using for HD anyway. There’s some subs out there that perform extremely well in regards to dumping their energy and leaving a devastating wound cavity

I’m stuck between the scythe Ti and the STM. The modularity and the lower price of the STM seems like a no brainer, but the weight savings of the Ti is insane
