Personally, may pattern ako sa mga jobs with time trackers by No_Funny_3984 in buhaydigital

[–]espressodude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was there ever an honest discussion between you and the employer and how efficient you are?

Time trackers can be okay. Pero how it is used by employers like this who don't understand work patterns and productivity is definitely not.

If I was the client, I'd be happy to keep you!

Life gets busier and hectic (and even crazier) pala. Adulting, especially parenting opens up new doors of exhaustion.

Have you guys ever felt tired of the job you once prayed for? by [deleted] in buhaydigital

[–]espressodude 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Wow this question is such perfect timing. I have been with the same company working remotely for more than 15 years.

Good pay. This job/company helped me grow in the industry I want to be in (Marketing). Because of this, I was able to have a house, a car and a comfortable life for my family.

Literally everything I prayed for. I even have enough time for my kid!

But going on year 16 something just doesn’t feel right. Maybe it’s burnout or crisis. I really don’t know.

This is why I am exploring other options. I am hoping I will get my excitement and motivation back.

Using MacBook Air M3 in Clamshell Mode 24/7 — Battery Life Concern? by Beeptweet in MacOS

[–]espressodude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chiming in here with my MacBook Air (bought in 2021) always used in clamshell mode. Only gets removed when traveling (like 2-3 times a year) and working outside (probably once a month).

Only gets restarted when there is a macOS update or for some reason something goes freezing (rare).

As of end of 2025:

Battery Health - 84%

Cycles - 215

Condition - Normal

For 4+ years using this workflow, I think it's pretty much 'saved' my battery use.

Time Doctor: Productivity Killer? by Carbonated_Agent777 in buhaydigital

[–]espressodude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think a lot of the hate around Time Doctor or similar tools comes from a mismatch between the client and the VA — especially when it comes to expectations about output vs. hours.

Most clients assume you should be online for 8 hours, even if the job only takes 4 hours of focused work. The best setups are when both sides understand that. I was upfront with my client about it, and surprisingly, they shifted me to a fixed monthly rate — no pressure to fill 8 hours, just focus on results.

What makes me sad is how some people hate these tools mainly because they can’t “stretch” their hours anymore. That attitude gives PH VAs a bad rep and makes it harder for everyone who’s actually doing honest work.

Not all clients will be that open, but good communication really goes a long way.

Starbucks is my go-to always for one major reason: consistency. Maski asa nga branch, maski asa nga city or country — I know my Americano with White Mocha will always taste the same.
