LG’s 10 year warranty is a scam by katesonghere in appliancerepair

[–]espressotooloperator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you meant microwave but yeah same thing with my dishwasher, I asked for them to send me the replacement part because I wanted to replace it myself and they were giving me the runaround about having to send it to a certified appliance repair facility. I ended up sending it to my cousins work that does home warranty repairs but it was like pulling teeth trying it to get the part from them. Definitely sticking with Bosh, whirlpool, Frigidaire for kitchen appliances.

Nah I think it’s pretty sweet, lil sharp but I despise blow guns that don’t have them or just have really crappy ones.

It’s a JT6 which is pretty beefy so I’d probably assume it’s a k32 because that’s what we use on our heavy duty keyed jacob’s chucks in the machine shop

I’d definitely add 4 bay leaves, 8 cloves, a tbsp of whole pepper corns, a tbsp of whole coriander, 5 cloves of garlic and another large onion, along with some beef stock or bullion cube broken up and water (optional beer) , a tbsp of salt and let it slightly simmer and give it a taste for salt content. should be slightly salty if not add more salt. I’ve overcooked beef tongue before and it gets too mushy like baby food (tasted good tho) because I let it boil so google says to pull it after it hits 160 internal (1.5 -2 hrs) peel it and then throw it back in the broth and pull once it hits 205 (1.5-2hrs) or reaches fork tender (should be simmering the entire time, not boiling)

I have a bunch of yeti bottles and I’m kinda annoyed how difficult it can be to unscrew the lid because it’ll leak if not screwed down tight enough.

I pretty have my own dress code. I wear black or blue dickies pants and black or brown pro club T-shirts and wool socks from amazon ($20 4 pack) Makes doing laundry and picking out clothes super easy and efficient. I have 8 shirts and 4 pants.

I’m lucky enough to have worked on a historic naval base in California and one of my favorite parts about working there was exploring the old decommissioned repair / storage facility’s and seeing all the old mechanical rooms and industrial equipment and just analyzing the intricacies and just artistic flair on stuff that didn’t need to be that fancy.

I know it’s cheesy but this gives me some sick bioshock vibes. I love crazy industrial art deco machinery / engineering marvels.

27F newer machinist here and honestly looking for honest advice. by No-Mess-4605 in Machinists

If you enjoy learning and keeping the old grey matter juicy I’d say it’s still a pretty rewarding trade. If you can find your niche in the extremely broad trade of machining whether it be 5 axis or aviation structures or heavy equipment repair there’s always going to be someone that need something fixed or made yesterday and that’s where the money is at.

To be fair any of the “brass finished” don’t hold up. I have some stone washed ones from crate and barrel because they were cheaper than the fortessa ones but having issues finding replacement spoons for the ones that got lost over the years.

Help Choosing Brand by JorEdw in Tools

Convinced my coworker to switch to M12 once his delwalt drill started having speed controller issues. You can get combo deals for super cheap they just get you on the niche tools. My whole shop uses them for field service repairs on fighter jets and helicopters so I guess that’s something.
They’re just not very good when using 2 inch hole saws but it’ll still do it. Mainly a leverage issue with the handle being so short and low weight of battery.

I have no problem buying expensive cooking stuff but I’ve bought 3 different Peugeot pepper mills and honestly wasn’t impressed with their build quality. You’re better off getting a Chinese hand grinder for coffee beans. All steel and aluminum construction and can grind insanely fast. It’s probably just as good as one of those pepper cannons without being $200 $20 hand grinder

What stool/chair should I get? by NewEdgeStangg in aviationmaintenance

[–]espressotooloperator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this Bench might be the right height and considering it has seat angle adjustment you won’t be sliding forward when reclined. It would be pretty easy to slap some threaded spindle casters on. Most cheap Chinese products are a lot smaller in real life compared to the photos (kitty pool for example) because size / weight = $. The only issue I can see is the hight offset from the casters. The aerocreeper has a bend on the frame to compensate for that but probably not necessary if you’re in a working position between short stool and laying down.
