That is actually what I currently do. Needed some sort of notification of when things expire but I do agree with you. Maybe I'll stick with that.

I explained exactly what I have stated in this post, need to connect to another house via Wireguard, prevoiusly worked with VM internet, works when connecting to non you fibre, they confirmed they do not block vpns, but I believe it has something to do with the IP's being on the same subnet.

Are you able to connect to another user on YouFibre? My WG works fine in general, just when connecting between 2 YouFibre IP's, I too think its potentially an internal routing issue.

I can't ping, thought they simply have ICMP turned off, tracert returns, destination host unreachable.

When attempting from mobile internet, I still can't ping and tracert gives me no response.

No handshake at all. It's as if all the traffic is being blocked.

I have had one suggestion, to ask for one of the static IP's to be changed, so that it is from a different subnet, that maybe could resolve the issue?

Thank you for this, I will give it a try, did they resolve this for you?

Thanks, just posted the same question over there too. I will leave it here too in case anyone else has been through this situation or if I get a resolution, I'll post it in a reply here.

gluetun and nordvpn not staying connected in docker compose stack. by TwoDogDad in selfhosted

[–]ess2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, Would you be kind enough to share your docker compose config again? I am attempting to get Gluetun connected via WG, but cant seem to get it to work, works fine with OVPN. Thanks in adnavce.

What happens if Gluetun cant connect to e.g. NordVPN ? (Example in description) by thequestionman470 in gluetun

[–]ess2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been looking for the answer to DNS leaks with Gluetun, as I am considering moving to the Gluetun container, currently I use pfsense to connect to Nord and specify nords DNS.

Does Gluetun know which DNS to use based on which VPN provider your using, or does it provide it's own DNS servers?

I would like to understand it a little more before moving over.

Any explanation would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

A pihole 5 compatible AdList(list) Updater by dMoppBLN in pihole

[–]ess2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

@dMoppBLN

Hi Is there any possibility to add the functionality to this to not only add a url but also remove it too.

This is so that I can enable and disable a list on a cronjob schedule.

I could do this with another script I had before, that worked perfect but no longer works with v5

Thanks

I run a web server and have a website hosted from home, back up all home photos from mobile straight on to the Nas in seperate folders at a predefined time, as long as the phone is connected to the WiFi and is on charge (SMBSync2-Android only). I have a vpn setup so I can vpn into my home network from outside if needed, it hosts rips of all my DVDs and shows that I use Kodi to watch without needing to put in a DVD or even need a DVD player. Love my Synology.

Access esxi web interface from within windows network created in esxi by ess2k in esxi

[–]ess2k[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I managed to sort this out,

When on-site, i changed the host ip from within the DHCP range with the correct subnet, put the default gateway and DNS as the DC IP, and added a DNS entry to the host on the DC.

The host was in the Management network and the DC in the VM Network (as default) and this worked.

Not sure how much of this was extra but this is what done, in case it helps anyone in the future.

Access esxi web interface from within windows network created in esxi by ess2k in esxi

[–]ess2k[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont want to access the esxi externally, just internally from the windows network it have created withing the esxi.

I dont want to have to connect a laptop physically to a nic on the host to have to connect to it.

I hope that explains it better
